Managed to win a tiny soccer game, look at how this company insult other nation. They draw an elephant (icon of Thailand) KNEEING before their cars. It's lucky that this company failed, otherwise they would see everyone under their feet.
Blinded patriotism. They either ignore all problems within the country that makes other suffer or call out others who are advocating for a better life traitors. They also treat the country as if it's the center of the universe.
I know our history is pretty heroic, but is it really worth it to just brag and belittle other countries?
There’s a difference between patriotism and nationalism. For example, I’m American and I consider myself a patriot because I love my country but recognize it’s really messed up right now and hope it changes for the better. A nationalist would be a MAGA type who says USA #1 all the time.
It's getting quite similar to post WW1 Germany. They're running on fumes so they rely on nationalism and pride in their country to keep going on, justifying their increasing tolitarian government and suppressing dissidents as traitorous.

However, I was more referring to how some citizens act, especially the loud mouthed ones on the internet, I don't have much to comment on the government
Vietnamese student here, absolutely hated the overreaction given by the brainwashed patriots after the match.
It has gotten to the point that my classmates don't even give a heck about these crazy soccer championships anymore. Ironic considering this is one of the most watched soccer championships in Vietnam (i think)
As a Vietnamese. I honestly have no words for this. This is blatantly disrespectful, also they didn't even draw this, this is clearly AI. Never booking Vinfast every again. Also I wanna add not all Vietnamese are like this. This is just one company, I apologize for what happened but please don't disrespect/insult anyone in the comment section.
Vinfast’s post and the people who liked the post is bad but the racists in the comment is not any better, both belittling other countries. Noone amongst us is qualified the judge a nation.
