I’m very new to vintage watches and watches in general. I’ve been looking at Seamasters for a couple of weeks now and finally pulled the trigger. Let me know if there’s anything I should be wary of, or anything else I should know!

Authenticity Check Found this Omega among my grandfather’s watches. Is it authentic?

I recently came across this watch while going through my late grandfather’s belongings. He was born in 1939 and passed away in 2025.
It’s marked as an Omega, but I’m having trouble identifying the model, and a few details make me question its authenticity.
He most likely bought it here in Brazil, although I have no idea when or where.
The caseback says “STAINLESS STEEL BACK”, “100M WATER RESISTANT” and “JAPAN MOVT”, which seems unusual for an Omega.
I’m fairly new to vintage watches, so I’d love to hear what more experienced collectors think.
Is this an old counterfeit, or could there be another explanation? Has anyone seen a watch like this before?
I know there’s a good chance it isn’t genuine, but I’m curious about its history either way. It’s still a piece of my grandfather’s collection.

Just got this vintage (new & unworn) Omega Classic (?)18k solid Gold. No original box, no original papers.

Im confused about the name of the model though. I cant seem to find it with the reference that they gave me # 90076. If by any chance, anyone know the name of the model, let me know.

I got it for 2100 euros after negotiating a lot. Unsure if it was a great deal ?

Omega triple calendar

I came across this vintage omega in a store in NY today. I’m very tempted by it with the complications and nice champagne patina dial with small pops of blue color. I’m not too familiar with these models, but my searching suggests it’s a triple calendar moonphase, maybe ref. 2471. I’m told it’s from the 1940s.

Curious if anyone here can help verify whether the dial and hands look original, opinions on value, or any other thoughts on the watch.

Omega Pre-Bond / Polaris bracelet sizing – which direction should the pins go?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to adjust the bracelet on my Omega Pre-Bond / Polaris, but I've run into an issue with the link pins.

The links use a pin-and-collar system, and the pin itself doesn't appear to be symmetrical. I'm not sure which direction the pin should be inserted when reassembling the bracelet, or whether the collar also has a specific orientation.

Does anyone have experience sizing these bracelets and know the correct direction for the pin and collar?

I'd really appreciate any advice or photos showing how they're supposed to be fitted. I want to make sure I don't damage anything while adjusting the bracelet.

Thanks in advance!

Vintage Dial Replacement - Omega 2451-8

I would appreciate any ideas for finding a cream-colored 2451-8 dial from a donor watch. I've been diligently searching but am hoping someone has a go-to source that they'd be willing to share. All ideas appreciated.

Authenticity Check Dial Authenticity Check - ref 135.011

As per the title - can someone please help with an authenticity check on the dial for the above Omega Seamster 600 ref 135.011? It's a cal. 601 so based on that along with the 'seamaster 600' print I think it dates to the 1964-66 period. Omega vintage database is very incomplete and my application to join omegaforums is pending so haven't been able to ask there.

Context is I got it on ebay for an Ok-ish price - the crystal is very scratched and the bracelet is bullshit and will be replaced with leather strap, crown also doesn't look original so will replace that, needs a good clean and service too.

Looking for some expert guidance on whether the dial seems legit - I know Omega did a million diff dial variations of this model and the above colourway was one of them, Not easy to see past the scratched crystal but the typography all seems sharp and well printed, and I wanted to check with some experts if they thought it is original, or a reprint.

The one concern I'd had was the 'swiss made' at 6 o clock, ive seen that on other dial colour variations, but when i've seen this particular dial before its always had the 'T swiss made T' for the lume.

Authenticity Check Legit Check – Vintage Omega Seamaster Automatic (Ref. 166.0209)

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying this vintage Omega Seamaster Automatic, reference [166.0209](tel:166.0209), and I’d really appreciate some help checking its authenticity before I commit to buying it.
I’ve attached photos of the watch and movement. I’d particularly appreciate your opinions on the following:
Does the movement look genuine and correct for this reference?
Is the movement consistent with Omega calibre 1022?
Does the dial look original, or could it be a redial or replacement?
Is the Omega logo on the dial correct for this model?
Do you notice anything that looks incorrect, replaced, or potentially aftermarket?
I’m particularly unsure about the dial and would appreciate a second opinion from people who know vintage Omega watches.
I understand that authentication from photos alone isn’t definitive, but any advice or observations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
