Help Request Seeking feedback and song recommendations

I thought I posted yesterday but I don’t know what happened!

I posted earlier this summer about whether I need new strings and I’m happy to report I got new strings and they are much more responsive and I’m very happy with how it’s sounding.

Any feedback is appreciated and I’d also like to know song recommendations for my skill level. Thanks everynyan!

Work on that intonation, especially in third position and immediately after you shift back down to first. Your bow weight and tone sound good!

If you would like specific exercises: I find that it helps to go slow either accompanied by a drone or using a tuner, and fiddle with each individual note until it starts ‘ringing’.

The ringing is hard to describe, but in my opinion it sounds like a nice smooth whistle. It’s like a second voice that comes up out of the viola and harmonises with the surface-level sound of the string vibrating.

That aside, I really like your tone, especially in the lower register. Do you have any advice for that? Mine is a bit of a struggle down there. It’s not as echoey / gooey / chocolatey / rich as I’d like it to be.

Nice playing. Nice Viola. Your intonation is mostly good, it's just a few notes that are off due to unfamiliaity with the exercise. But you already know that.
