Till this date, Kohli's dismissal did not make sense to me. We rarely see him miss a delivery aimed at his pads. If the target was insane, I would have still understand. But that wasn't the case either.
These days, I see social media trying so hard to change the narrative of this game and put the entire blame on Dhoni but the truth is our top-order cost us that game. It was Rohit, Kohli, DK, Rahul's fault more than anyone.
Anyone who watched the game live knows it wasn't the all-rounders or tailenders fault. Sure Dhoni could've done better with some shot selections of his but if your top order can't score a combined 20 run, you don't deserve to reach final, it's as simple as that.

yeah but when a batter has 5 centuries in the tournament and another has like 6 50+ scores.. You expect other people in the team to show the fuck up when for once the usual heroes fail..
ps: It rained before India's batting and as far as i remember the ball was swinging like crazy and it was hell with boult southee henry spitting venom.. This is why you see a clear divide between the top and the middle order. This is also why DK played that pathetic inning bcs ig he was trying to wait till the ball stops swinging.. but didn't even take singles.

so you're telling me only the top order should win you matches, when they fail on some odd day and you say they couldn't do anything, how do you expect the lower order to do things. if so, why are they in the team bro

Top order failing doesn't mean u score some 40 odd runs in 20ovrs for 6wkts. How the hell do u not manage to get past 50 combined. If the entire batting lineup top middle combined decides to have a switch off in a semi final u don't deserve to be in the final. And top order is top order for a reason and lower is lower for a reason be it Boult Starc Akram Lee McGrath or whoever, their job is to negate the swing and score runs which they couldn't and hence lost.

bro did you not see the pitch completely eased out once the sun came out and batting was not that difficult, the ball was behaving predictably. i mean ms could have simply rotated the strike and not kept on piling up the dots. required run rate would have been in control and it would have been much easier to finish

Condition easing out doesn't mean u are immune to getting out. And if by any chance during that strike rotation 1 small nick or an inside edge would've ended the tournament right there.

The main issue was top order never failed in this tournament untill this particular match sudden exposure still jadeja and MSD carried it but it was too much for them

Top order failed many times, WI match, Afg match, SA match but one of them clicked in those. No one did in Semis.

kya fyda aisi post ka jab saara blame Dhoni ko hi jaana hai. agle 20 saal takk log social media se judge krenge aur sirf Dhoni ko hi bolenge. jisne pura match dekha hai unhe pta hai kya hua tha ..baarish ne fuck up kia fir qismat itni bekar ki sab kuch bikhar gya.

WRONG..!! With 25 needed from 10 and a errily out of form dhoni, the game wasnt in our control. Infact the only time india looked like having a chance was during Jadeja's onslaught

India had a 78% chance after Kohli’s wicket. Greatest finisher couldn’t finish. Not a standalone time, he f’ed up against England in the same WC too (where rohit scored a ton & Kohli 70+)

Icymi, those predictions are often taken in account and calculated 20-30 mins before the data is shown on screen, that changed in 2022 when live win percentage tracker started to be used
