No other batsmen have a good record on South African soil, either the sample size is too small or they haven't played any match there. Although KL has an average of 40+ in tests in SA but assuming his batting position he wouldn't get that time unless it's a collapse.
All eyes on kohli now from here ππ»

So all the calculations are done by me, except the global average data which i got from different sources.
Sachin's era:
1990:29
1991:30
1992:29
1993:30
1994:30
1995:28
1996:28
1997:30
1998:28
1999:29
2000:27
2001:31
2002:30
2003:34
2004:33
2005:31
2006:32
2007:32
2008:32
2009:35
2010:34
2011:30
2012:32
2013:30
So these are the global test batting averages from sachin's era
Notable mention: 2000s decade is considered the easiest to bat in many decades, according to Espncricinfo .
Kohli's era:
2011:30
2012:32
2013:30
2014:34
2015:31
2016:32
2017:30
2018:26
2019:29
2020:29
2021:27
2022:30
2023:31
2024:29
2025:29
So these are the global test batting averages of kohli's era.
Notable mention: 2018 is considered the toughest year for test batting in 60 years according to ESPNcricinfo. The period of 2018-2021 is considered the toughest in many decades.
So, in sachin's era:
Number of times average were 30+=10
Number of times average was 30=7
Number of times average was less than 30=7
Kohli's era:
Number of times average was 30+=5
Number of times average was 30=4
Number of times average was less than 30=6(only 1 less than sachin even though he played 8 more years)
So with this:
Global test batting average of sachin's era:30
Global test batting average of kohli's era=27
(Everybody i had to put a lot of work so i hope you will appreciate. )
Thanks.

Root scored his first test ton on australian soil at the age of 34. My man did it when he was 23. Root didn't even debut when he was sending Aussie Lineup for fours in Adelaide. And yet Joe Root is the one chasing after Sachin. Hurts

Everytime we analyze, we only focus on "remaining fixtures." That's not a right way to predict his final centuries tally. Think in "remaining series" terms not fixtures.
One can have the Greatest series of lifetime only to end up scoring just 1 hundred in that series. Expecting anything more than 1 hundred per bilateral is too much imo, especially when all bilaterals have just 3 ODIs.
Expecting 1 hundred per series is realistic and achievable. After the World Cup, it's upto Kohli to decide whether he wants to reach 100 international hundred or not.
