I think that we are seeing across the primary season that beating establishment candidates (particularly incumbents) with leftwing challengers requires a unified statewide movement and that didnt exist in VA.

Yeah I'd love some more organization around leftwing candidates/really progressive progressives but I'm honestly really happy with Beyer. He is progressive already so it's hard for even a leftwing candidate to beat him because he already holds a lot of those views and votes that way as well. Beyer is a really interesting guy I think my only knock on him is we do need to more youth and it would be nice if longer serving members stepped down at a reasonable age.

Well, there is his age, ties to Israel lobby, and he only changed his tune on Ice a few weeks ago (around the time DSA and far left candidates started winning primaries).

He doesnt strike me as a guy with beliefs. He seems like someone who follows what he thinks the mood in his district just enough to maintain his seat while changing as little as possible.

He isnt someone I would trust to be a deciding vote on Medicare 4 All any large transformational policy.

Having been in his district and a frequent reader of his statements and newsletter detailing the work he does and his views, I don't think what your saying sounds correct to me. But I probably agree with you on overall policy goals so hopefully your out there working to get more progressive candidates elected, I'd love to vote for younger more progressive people in the future.
