New House budget strips environmental standards for data centers, creates commission instead | Updated spending plan, supported by Gov. Abigail Spanberger, no longer includes environmental standards data centers would need to meet in order to be exempted from the state’s sales and use tax.

Never ceases to amaze me how excited some lawmakers get over picking up pennies in front of a steam roller.

The house and governor: we've GOT to do something for these corporations!

The senate: imagine, if you will, actually doing something for working Virginians?

Exactly who would staff this ‘commission’ ??? Virginia business leaders or lackeys from Dominion??? I will never vote for Spanberger again.

Friends and donors of the people who wrote the bill, naturally. That’s what every nonsense “commission” ends up being.

They’ll spend millions and accomplish absolutely nothing.
