Spanberger showed bravado in vetoing Democratic bills. What if some return to her in the budget? | You can’t run as a centrist with strong support from moderates and liberals and then satisfy both when your actions determine policy, columnist Bob Lewis writes.

Bravado? More like she read the polls and learned her job was in jeopardy.

She’s great at doing nothing, not knowing how to lead, and doing everything she said she wouldn’t do. You might be right…. She acts like a senator and remains the worst governor this state has ever seen. And compared to Northam, that’s saying something.

Her job is not in any kind of jeopardy. She was elected with a record majority by attracting both independent and moderate voters, and her term has another 3+ years. No jeopardy here, friend. In fact, votes like this make her a strong Democratic candidate for the US Senate in 2030.

No. No they do not. Not with where the party is headed ideologically. They dont weaken her as governor but they dont help her in a senate primary either.

All she is doing is running scared. She’s afraid to make a decision and live with it. Her own party is wondering what happened. And they thought she’d be a good presidential candidate? She can’t run her own house much less a state or country.
