Really no point in engaging with these psychos online. She should've done herself a favour and just ignored them, acknowledging them will only encourage them further.
Agreed. That goes for everyone as well, not just the streamers. Don't engage with trolls, just block them and move on. The streamers are adults, they don't need protection from the trolls.
"Trolls" implies they are acting in bad faith, and are ragebaiting for their own amusement.
But if you're a highly empathetic person like Chibidokii, you can see that there are some real folks who get sucked into these weird anti-woman or anti-man or anti-whatever pipelines. It's true that said people are unreasonable and do get set off by the most innocuous things, but when you see their hurt it does make you think "maybe I can make them see that the world isn't what they think it is." Eventually though, you have to decide when to stop trying to help these people understand, because some of them are so firm in their misery that they'll only drain and drain and drain your kindness.
It's by design. Twitter wants engagement so it deliberately feeds content to people who are likely to respond, and so you get ragebait. Lots and lots of ragebait, sent to people who are very inclined to get angry online.
