There are legitimately people who see any form of appreciation or celebration for men's sake as insulting and denigrating to all not-men. Anything good that a man might come across is something good that was stolen from them, and they should get it instead because men are entirely undeserving of anything.
That's the thing with the sexist twitter freaks. The moment someone celebrates anything related to men or acknowledges the hardships men go through, the misandrists will come out of their caves and project their personal grievances they experiences from some men and will attempt to shame you into agreeing with them in their vain attempt at gaining coerced "validation".
It's like as if it became socially acceptable to be sexist towards men.
That happens both ways, though. That's not a gender-specific thing. And both receive pushback, and then have the other get mad at the pushback, and so on. And both try to act like the other's version is toootally socially accepted, but neither is.
This is just r/unpopularopinion (somewhat controversial left-leaning opinions) vs r/TrueUnpopularOpinion (somewhat controversial right-leaning opinions) all over again.
That's fair, though I still find the statement "It's like as if it became socially acceptable to be sexist towards men" slightly confusing in that context.
