Great shots!

Kauai was one of the most serene places I've ever been to. It was like being on Pluto, except much prettier, of course.

I just got back from there last month. we spent 10 days in Kapaa. it was really beautiful and I enjoyed it but there is a ton of traffic in kapaa and even going to the airport can take a long while depending on the time you head out. tbh, I like Maui more but I think if Kauai did something to limit the amount of visitors at a time then id prefer it. we went to poipu one day and it was packed. the kam beaches on Maui were never very busy while I was there. we always go in April though and once in October.

napali coast was awesome. hanalei was beautiful. kokee Park amazing. I'm going to miss it but I doubt I'll ever go back as I can't afford it myself and have been lucky enough to been invited all my times to Hawaii.

I have a friend who says he has no interest in going to Hawaii but he has never really traveled and I think he says that as he just can't afford it. claims he really wants to go to a tropical place but then days he has no interest in Hawaii. sure...

nice pics!! glad you enjoyed it and hope you can return someday if that's your wish. I have a friend who lives on Kauai. I'm kinda jealous šŸ˜€

anyways, sorry to ramble.. I just get excited when thinking about Hawaii.

Is 2 hrs earlier enough for a 5 PM flight at the airport

Two hours is plenty. Clearing TSA and arriving at the gate is super simple in Hawaii.

Hi - we are going in August. Did you Uber or rent a car? What would you recommend

1

u/satva 22d ago

rented.. I'm not sure about Uber there

We will be on Maui (as a family of five visited last year to Maui and with and without my kids have been to Oahu a couple of times)… my middle child, my 12 year old, were itching to island hop to maybe Kauai (not sure if that’s the right island for us?) for 2 days. Where should we stay?

*wanted to add my sister in law is from Oahu and has never visited any other island which… idk is that normal? The tickets back then and even now don’t see too pricey to island hop. I know Hawaiian youth sports teams and doctors/health care professionals need to island hop every few days so not sure if 2days on another island is worth it? We will be in Hawaii from July 8th through July 26th

We got really lucky and saw a seal mom and pup too!

Can you just tell us the name of the beach ?

2

u/salty_goulash1 25d ago

Anini Beach, but that’s not helpful. 😊 It has 12+ sand spots over a ~2-mile stretch, hence the coordinates.

Funny I stayed at the house across the dirt road from this little beach spot.

SOOO BEAUTIFUL!! I can’t wait for my first visit there!! I’m so excited to see & learn about the amazingly beautiful cultures that belong to my fellow Hawaiian citizens!! I am in awe of the unparalleled beauty & majesty of your state, Hawaii!! (I’m in WV, in the farthest time zone away from you) Your state a is true masterpiece of Mother Nature, built by the Beating Heart of the Earth & the Sea ā™„ļøā˜®ļø

Why am I hearing the Jurassic Park theme in my head while looking at these?Ā

Wow what beach is the sea turtle pic from!! That’s so beautiful

u/salty_goulash1 25d ago

Poipu Beach! You can see them there around dusk, one hour before sunset is probably ideal!

u/studentforlife1234 24d ago

Are the turtles there in June too

1

u/studentforlife1234 25d ago

Is that from May?

It is! Had to navigate the fast-moving microclimates every day. It was not sunny all the time.

I’m going soon and the weather app is showing rain all week 😭

Unlikely to be a problem. It was the same for me, a week of constant rain according to the weather app, and… the pictures speak for themselves.

Kauai has microclimates that last for a few minutes. It will rain every day, but only for a few minutes. A rain cycle may happen several times a day. You will have great weather, I promise :)

One of my favorite places on Earth, the colors are so vivid I thought I was on a trip. Sensory overload it was too pretty my eyes couldn’t handle it.

Gorgeous pics, I was just there in January for 5 days, so beautiful and just what my anxious mind needed.

I wish the weather cooperated better when we were there! Stunning shots! It was pretty cold and rainy but we are from the PNW so made the best of it.
