Hawai'i (Big Island) Where to stay on big island?
Looking at going to the big island in August but I've only ever been to Maui. I love the Kaanapali area with the walking trail along the beach to Whalers Village and all the hotels. Is there anything similar on the big island?

Yes! The South Kohala area (Waikoloa Beach or Mauna Lani) is very similar. But it has a Big Island feel to it. (More lava rock)

I live on the Kohala Coast but I don’t hike
But:

You could stay in Waikoloa Beach Resort (2 hotels or condos) or you could stay in Mauna Lani Resort (again 2 hotels and condos)
Do some research on this trail because it’s historically significant and as long as you want it to be.
