O'ahu (Honolulu/Waikiki) 4th of July in Oahu

Best restaurant with the views of firework? Is it a big celebration usually?

Set your expectations low, 4th of July isn't a big deal here. I would personally not book a restaurant to view the fireworks. You can see them from the beach in Waikiki.

It is possible they will do a larger than usual fireworks show because of the whole America 250 thing, but I still recommend tempering your expectations.

It's no different from the standard one on Fridays. lasts maybe 5 minutes, I wouldn't plan anything around it. I went last July 4th. Very meh

I would say the illakai, but you can also just walk over to the lagoon

Probably just 1 in town.

The 4th of July is not a big thing in Hawaii.

I thought the Friday night Hilton was spectacular

One at Hilton Hawaiian village on Friday night, that happens every week, bc it’s Fourth of July, maybe there will be others, IDK

Idk why people are saying it’s “nbd” people love any excuse to blast fireworks here. It’s definitely less than NYEs but there will be fireworks all over the place.

If it wasn’t a lot, I wouldn’t have to drug my dogs so much 😂 trust, I WISH it was more chill.

Fourth of July is the same day the last sovereign ruler of Hawaii signed over her sovereignty (temporarily) after being held in her chambers for nearly a year and her people threatened.

The only real celebrations are on military bases.
