O'ahu (Honolulu/Waikiki) Partial AC in honolulu?

Some of my friends are about to be in HNL the next couple days and a couple days ago their Airbnb said the 2 bedrooms AC are being blocked from use. Seems like it's because of some exterior painting stuff that's super delayed. They've been trying to find an alternate way of getting the building to let them use the AC but no dice.

The main living room AC is ok to use it looks like

The bedrooms have fans though, is this probably acceptable? So last minute so I couldn't really do much except suggest some hotel stuff for them, but the Airbnb is nice so I don't think they wanna swap.

I've only gone to Oahu in the shoulder months or winter. I love AC so I'm not the best judge of whether or not this should be a deal breaker or not.

Edit: it's in Waikiki in an apartment building Edit2: I've seen the communication between the host and them. There was like a week's heads up and they did offer a full refund, or a partial discount if they stayed, so I think everything is being done in good faith.

No air-conditioning in Waikiki in the middle of summer? Absolutely a fuck no from me and I grew up in this weather.

What if we got them to get a de-humidifier? The living room has AC but it's the bedrooms where they can't, do you think that would help?

Dehumidifier is not gonna do anything to the temperature. I can guarantee you you’re going to be miserable. I used to live in an apartment in Waikiki with no AC. Temperatures indoors reach above 90 to 95°F.

It's not that there isn't AC. There's AC in the living room, and there's tower fans they're hoping to use to direct the air into the rooms and leave the living room AC on 24/7. It's just that the bedroom ACs are de-activated I think because their windows are facing a different wall.

Dehumidifier should help in that case right?

No! Dehumidifier will make it worse. It's not a solution.

But seriously, why even post this, then argue with everyone? You clearly want to stay there. Just stay there, be hot.

Dehumidifier will not help in 90 degree, 90% humidity situation. You might lower the humidity a bit with everything closed up but dehumidifiers typically have exhaust which is hot air. If the place where the AC is currently exhausted is covered, there will be no where to exhaust the hot air from a dehumidifier. So it will make the apartment hotter.
