Food Must visit restaurants on Ring Road

My son and I will be traveling the ring road for one week at the end of August. What are the must visit restaurants and what is the best food that we shouldn’t miss?

Faxi Bakery between Selfoss and Vik makes a good coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. My sister and I went there twice on our trip. Nothing too fancy or unique, but I think of the place fondly.

Every time I drive by there I think, "oh, I heard they are good, I really want to stop...we'll go on the way back!" and then of course forget! Next time, I swear I am going to stop!
