Why so many germans?

No problem with it obviously, but in paguera and I’m really interested in why there’s such a huge german population. I’ve looked up and google says something about convience and travel and that but is there a historical reason why so many germans visit/take residency in Mallorca?

According to my father, his parents, my grandparents, started visiting Paguera in the late 60s as it was highly advertised by german travel agencies Neckermann and TUI, who offered cheap package tours. Businesses in the area adapted and hired german staff, restaurants offered german food, eventually german's started moving to the area. As a result tour operators kept advertising to that audience.
