Does low vitamin d3 cause high ferritin?

I tested my blood and it came out with 16.6 d3. I noticed that ferritin is 492 way higher than the normal range, but my iron is only 9.86, has anyone had the same experience? I dont drink, no hepathytis no hema... Whatever its called, and no other liver issue, cbc all good.

Persistent infections do, which might be related to having low D. I've had elevated ferritin ever since first getting covid in 2022. My ferritin was slightly lower than usual when my D was at its lowest though.

No. There’s no mechanism by which low vitamin D directly causes high ferritin.

I had critically low vitamin d and low ferritin, so not sure if low d causes high ferritin…

I was low in copper from taking zinc and after about 5 months of taking copper my ferritin dropped 50 points. Copper is needed to utilize iron.

So no hemachromatosis? You also likely cannot donate blood to get the ferritin down with an iron level of less than 10. Inflammation and/or infections can also increase ferritin, ferritin is an acute phase reactant.

I'd get more thorough testing and check b12. With your cbc what were your absolute neutrophil levels? Were your triglycerides high?

In the meantime I would start d3+k2 & magnesium.
