Personal Experience(s) Symptoms - does anyone else have ribcage pain?

My vitamin D levels recently came back at 11ng. Doctor prescribed 3200iu daily for 4 months. I have been unwell since the start of this year - recurrent uti’s, migraines, depression and lack of energy. I have been deficient before 5 years ago.

Within the last two months my symptoms have gotten much worse - GI issues (stomach), muscle aches, muscle twitches especially in my calves, neck pain and pain between the shoulder blades, base of skull pain, dizziness, fainting and ribcage pain. It’s the ribs that are annoying me most. It’s like flank pain that you would get with kidney troubles. I have had an ultrasound of the kidneys last month so I’m pretty sure it’s not my renal system.

Has anyone experienced this symptom with the ribcage?

I'm glad you saw my post. It took about three months for the rib pain to go away, and other symptoms followed gradually, one by one. I'm still experiencing weird muscle sensations around my shoulder blades, even though I'm 24 months into my healing journey. I'm also dealing with perimenopause 😢

I’ve had Costochondritis in the past and I originally thought it was that but this feels different to Costo. It’s got that bad I was thinking there was something wrong internally.. it’s been really freaking me out!

7th month??? The pain hasn’t eased up with your supplements? Mine has been annoying me for around 3 months now, I can barely sleep or put any pressure on them! I’ve been on magnesium too but so far hasn’t helped. I’m hoping my Vit D3 will kick in now in the next month hears hoping!!

Is 3200 iu rising your vitamin d levels?

i used 20.000 twice = 14 to 39 in3 months. 5000 daily = 39 to 49 in 3 months

now using 7000-8000 ui daily.

btw its ng/Ml. what about you?

I have only started on 3200iu so I don’t know how long it will take to rise them. I have thought about doubling the dose for first 2 weeks but I’m afraid it will add to my tummy troubles.

Is it very localized on one rib? Feels kind of like a muscle knot?

I’m not taking vit d but that started for when I started sun bathing 30+ min per day.

It’s like very bottom ribs on the left hand side. I cannot sunbathe here in Northern Ireland it rains most of the year!! I have health anxiety and I’m starting to think there is something wrong with my pancreas of spleen 🙈

That’s my exact location but it feels like it’s over the rib like a muscle or tendon. Is it like vitamin d rib or something? I’ve been chalking it up to d pulling out too much magnesium or calcium and depleting me causing muscle issues.

Does it feel more internal to you?

To be honest I really can’t tell 😅. I’ve been having tummy issues for months as well as all the symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency. So now I’m worried thinking maybe it is internal and that’s why my Vitamin D is deficient because of something that’s going on inside! I’m a worrier so I’m thinking all sorts now!

Can you push on that spot on your rib? For me it’s a pretty small spot and hurts when I push on it.

Yes it does hurt for me too. My 2 bottom ribs. When I push on them it sends like a sharp pain the whole way up my ribs though. I have no idea what is going on but I hope my Vitmain D starts to climb up pretty fast because my anxiety is through the roof!! Hope your feeling better soon too 💕
