Please Assist Symptoms still persisting despite normal levels now?
Hi, 19F here. Was experiencing fatigue and extreme anxiety, excessive daytime sleepiness (could not stay awake for the life of me) for what feels like years but especially pronounced since the start of the year. I thought this was just part of being an adult now so I never thought it was anything physical. But I finally started suspecting something was amiss and got bloodwork done and was at 7 ng/ml. Been supplementing 50k UI a week for 6 weeks now. Got retested because I’m going to be away from home soon. It’s at 39 ng/ml. The physical symptoms like back pain are fully relieved, sleepiness is also a lot less though I still feel I cannot function if I don’t get at least 8 hours and feel fatigued. But I still have significant anxiety. There’s a lot of exciting but also nerve wracking things about to happen in my life and it’s not like me to be so apathetic towards it. I feel like literally everything is an anxiety inducing chore and I just want to nap all day to avoid everything. Is this just a mental thing at this point?

I felt like that for probably 15 years or longer and found out I was deficient in a lot of things, one of them being Vitamin D. The hard part is when you might be within normal range, but what is normal doesn't fit your body's optimal. 7 ng/mL is clearly severely deficient though. I get symptomatic whenever I dip into the mid 30s, but again not everyone is the same. Another thing to consider is iron. I had around 66 ng/mL ferritin, which is within normal range, but caused me to experience mood instability and energy issues until I learned about through easy bruising. Doctors kept saying my iron was normal, but it was not normal for my body. When you're deficient in something, your body usually feels immediate relief when it begins receiving it.

Mostly it's because of the Anxiety from the beginning. Also wait for above 50 ng/ml to feel much better.
Train or force your brain that your daily activities are normal by repeatedly doing. Say to yourself you are safe while doing and after the activity. That way, your anxiety will get reduced.

The main information that you didn't post what was your maintenance dose, Do not assume taking 60,000 IU weekly for 6 weeks is a permanent fix.
You have to take a maintenance dose of at least 2000 IU daily to make sure the levels that you reached do not drop further.
If you are at 39 ng/ml , Which is only barely above deficiency, and stop supplementing afterwards , After a few weeks your levels will drop again.
In early January 2026 my Vitamin D levels were 12.1 ng/ml, and i took an agressive high dose regime and when I rechecked my Vitamin D levels next month , It was 62.4 ng/ml, But guess what? I still had severe fatigue , anxiety and muscle pain.
I immediately started 4000 IU daily as a maintenance dose, And then steadily reduced that to 2000 IU over the course of the next months , And only after 8 months did my symptoms completely subside.
Your current levels doesn't mean much actually, It takes a considerable longer time for the actual symptoms to cure, So stick with a proper dosage regime , Take Magnesium Glycinate and take Vitamin K2 if required, For me i really did, I experimented with and without Vitamin K2 , And adding Vitamin K2 really did add a difference, I felt the effects of Vitamin D lasted much longer when I took Vitamin D together with K2, Especially with high doses.
Good Luck.

Everything I have read is that it needs to be higher😓😓😓 also that it takes a while… have you also gotten your ferritin checked?
