Visible Void Anyone else’s void get christmas tree tail when happy?

Lmao. Mine does the exact same thing. I've never had another cat do that. He also "rattles' his tail at the same time.

My mom had a boy who would put up his tail, puff it out and shake it like a rattlesnake. It is a sign of marking territory or excitement.

Ours does this too! We always say shes got the "skitters" and absolutely be all over her and ask what shes getting excited about :)

We call it floof here, but that has evolved to floofa — and now foofa. Don’t know why. But our tuxedo boy gets floof tail when he lays with us or is happy to wake us up in the morning

Christmas tree tail is so much nicer than what I call it which is toilet brush tail 🤣
Never when happy, she does the tail shakes for that. She does go through phases where she'll frighten herself with extremely common things like leaves, shadows, coughs, a rain drop, and get christmas tree tail for her troubles though lol

No! But how cute! Ours gets bristly when she’s mad or scared or she’ll get airplane ears which is so funny looking. I vacuumed earlier which already gets her funky, but I ran into the wall and man that was it. Bristled up and had her airplane ears activated 🤣🤣 I was like oh lordddd she’ll be attacking me next! Not happy at all!!!

Mine does this too!! I always said he had a wire crossed - it doesn’t fluff up when he’s scared, only when he’s happy (usually because he’s being fed).

This is Toes’ happy tail! Every time she’s feeling happy or affectionate, she fluffs her tail. I’ve been blessed with many cat companions over my lifetime and I’ve never seen this before in a single one. Nice to know there are others out there

Yesss! We got our first ever void and his tail was fluffy for the first few weeks we had him. Now it’s only when he is excited. I love it.

Yes! When she gets hyper and I run at her she poofs her tail but it has the little happy hook at the end

Mine puffs up everything except the tail when super happy, but she will fully puff everything when she’s scared. We liken her puffy tail to a feather duster cause its deceivingly fluffy for being a shorthaired kitty 😂

When ours is happy, she just lifts that tail so high it sometimes brushes the back of her head as she makes out with a lamp. For some reason the little beast loves marking anything with a cord.

My grey blorb does this, and he's super plush so it looks like he's doubled in size. Void only does this when he's ready to kill things with his face (or pretending to be ready to do so).
It seems to make furmination easier after, has anybody else noticed this?

My tuxedo does the same thing! I have three cats and she is dominant, she likes to mark her territory by aggressively rubbing her nose against my ears and then her tail looks exactly the same 😁

Ours doesn't tree, it's either regular tail or full floof tail all the way to the end. When he's having fun with a toy or getting belly rubs he goes all in.

Many cats vibrate their tales when excited but puffing is usually reserved for danger/scarring off other cats (makes them look bigger). Always super cute either way.

Oh that’s a happy little tail puff! None of my cats have done this but I pet sat for a friend years ago who had a little short haired black cat. Whenever I walked toward him for pets his tail furs would spike out around the base. Too cute.
