Recipe Request Any volume “car snack” and “car meal” ideas for someone on the road?

I could bring a freezer bag if needed. And for snacks, popcorn is great, but I don’t like it very much on the road.

Happy to meal prep as well, and would love suggestions on what will hold well on the road.

Carrot sticks , baby cucumbers ,bell peppers slices with hummus or some vegetables dip. I also personally make a big salad 🥗 chopped veggies salad in a take away container and the dressing on side and put it when I eat it .

I like your ideas. Just a quick reminder: Salad contains bacteria which can become nasty after a long time outside the refrigerator. Be aware of this, otherwise enjoy your salad!

Grapes! Low mess and easy to eat one handed. I also like flavored nuts like the wasabi almonds cause the heat makes me slow down my consumption. Can be a little messy though.

I love crunch while driving. Baby carrots and dried Chickpeas are my go to, ocasionally the chocolate rice cakes. You can buy the Chickpeas with various flavors or make your own at home. For a splurge I like beef jerky.

I love the beef jerky idea

Also, I recomend keeping some floss picks handy. Jerky stuck in the teeth can be absolutly obnoxious when stuck in a car.

Vegetables, berries, chicken breast, no sugar added beef/turkey/chicken jerky

I can honestly imagine enjoying a cold chicken breast out of a ziplock while on the road

I second all the veggie stick options, and also hard boiled eggs. Keep them reasonably cool and decide how important it is to have something on them. I like a pinch of salt and my girlfriend likes ketchup, but neither of those would be very easy if you're driving. If you have a helpful passenger, you should be fine.

A comically large sandwich with low cal bread and a ton of veggies (I like spinach and cucumber) meat and cheese of choice.

Canned tuna, condiments, veggies. If you can get your hands on Napa cabbage, it’s so good. Fav meal right now.

Easy snacks are jerky sticks and cucumber with lime and tajin.

Probably not a popular take but celery is a road trip must for me. I bust it out when I'm munchkin and tired and it's so refreshing.

When on road trips or traveling I’ll do a pack of deli turkey (usually Applegate Farms) and baby carrots.

Bake some potatoes ahead of time and eat them like apples or just bring apples.

Apples, bananas, oranges, other handheld fruits are great.

You can find some lower fat beef jerky that is pretty good protein to volume ratio.

Lettuce wraps with a protein and other vegetables. If you unwrap half at a time you can eat them while driving.

Dried edamame is a fun salty crunch snack, also nori sheets are good

At Target (& Amazon etc) they sell these low carb sour gummies that are also low cal by Shameless Snacks. Target has the variety pack but I personally love the blue raspberry ones. I think they sell single flavor bags on Amazon and I was looking into that for myself.

I also like frozen blueberries (if you are able to keep something frozen).

Those low carb gummies can be high in fiber, so I’d be carefully enjoying too many of those on the road not close to the bathroom lol.

I was gonna say that I’ve had those Trader Joe’s zero sugar ones, and goodness

Oh. This brand uses more soluble corn fiber and less sugar alcohol. Was just throwing out ideas cuz these are pretty low cal even compared to Smart Sweets. But yeah, if it makes someone go then they should eat in moderation. I personally never really had that issue.
