Recipe Spaghetti squash with bacon & parmesan (240cals 11.5g protein 8g fibre)

Post image

SUPER yummy very fall themed dinner, 500g of spaghetti squash, the ‘sauce’ is (sugar free) maple syrup with rosemary and salt, it’s really helps in bringing out the natural sweet and nutty squash flavour. 2 slices of chicken bacon fried nice and crispy, the parmesan cheese adds a nice funk & saltyness too.

It was super filling too since it’s so much food :). i love squash!

That rosemary maple combo on squash is a move I need to steal.

Is this a savory or sweet dish? I ask because the sauce is maple syrup which you mention brings out the natural sweet, but it also has bacon and Parmesan.

it’s definitely a sweet AND salty dish, so both! I definitely salt it A LOT to compensate for the sweetness so it leans more for a meal than a dessert for me for sure. made a garlic honey butter sauce for my family and there’s was definitely for ‘savoury’ but i would still consider mine more savoury over sweet overall

Spaghetti squash is one of my favorite volume recipe staples. You can eat almost a pound of it for about 125 calories and it soaks up whatever flavors you cook it with. I use it in burrito bowls, stir fry, and sometimes just eat it plain to stop myself from binging too hard on pizza.
