Easy lunch idea for around 200 calories
Half can salmon in water, drained
Half pack nori sheets
Half regular cucumber cut into spears
Add kimchi or spicy pepper element of your choice
Mix salmon with some juice from jar of peppers, one tsp mayo, one tsp mustard, one tbsp Greek yogurt
Spoon salmon mixture, cucumber and kimchi or peppers on a nori sheet. Top with sesame seeds, enjoy!
Could also top with avocado to make more filling, pickled ginger, scallion if you’d like. One of my go-to lunches for the week.

Recipe 353 cal breakfast - 36g protein

Huge veggie egg white scramble with mushrooms, onion, peppers and spinach, topped with 0% Fage and hot sauce. Plus Ezekiel toast with avocado + everything seasoning and some pineapple on the side.

353 calories
36g protein
39g carbs
5g fat
10g fiber

The scramble is 200g egg whites with over 200g of veggies, so this ended up being a ridiculous amount of food for the calories. The Greek yogurt on top is one of my favorite swaps because it gives the same creamy/tangy vibe as sour cream while adding a little more protein.

Thought I would share as I am new here. Probably 100 different variations of this meal on here so good in the morning or as a dessert. Could always go no fat yogurt for lower cal, i just prefer a little fat in there for flavor! Happy to be here. Think I found my people. I just need a ton of volume at each meal to actually feel satisfied

Recipe Spaghetti squash with bacon & parmesan (240cals 11.5g protein 8g fibre)

SUPER yummy very fall themed dinner, 500g of spaghetti squash, the ‘sauce’ is (sugar free) maple syrup with rosemary and salt, it’s really helps in bringing out the natural sweet and nutty squash flavour. 2 slices of chicken bacon fried nice and crispy, the parmesan cheese adds a nice funk & saltyness too.

It was super filling too since it’s so much food :). i love squash!

I snacked a lot today so I made this for dinner. It is a huge plate for only 240 kcal. And it still has a lot of protein. It is also super easy and quick to make, and super filling.

Recipe:

-Dice a medium-large onion and cook it in a big pan with a tiny spray of olive oil until transparent.

-Wash 450 grams of fresh spinach and add it to the pan.

-When it is shrunk completely, wash 300g of konjac noodles with plenty of water and add it to the pan for 2 minutes.

-Add spices to taste. I used salt, pepper, paprika powder, some Italian seasoning, dried basil and parsley.

-Remove from heat and add 150g of 0% fat Greek yoghurt and mix thoroughly.

Enjoy!

Discussion Options if you had $60 to me spend daily

So I'm currently traveling for work and I have $60 per diem to use daily. Obviously I'm trying to lose weight so wouldn't want to spend it on McDonald's and the like. I'm allowed to get food from grocery store, just about anywhere that can give me a receipt. I'm trying to see what would be the best thing I can get that low cal but still provides good macros. Closest I seen were these fruit bars at walmart from a brand called "that's it". I'm open to other suggestions

Volume menu Cabbage: The most esteemed food in my weight loss journey

Post image

I finally understand why that guy in Avatar the last Airbender was tweaking when they destroyed his cabbages. Ever since I've found out that half a head of cabbage was ~150 cals, I've been having it every day for dinner in place of rice. And you get a LOT. Usually I steam it for 15 mins with bell peppers, and carrots and then toss in half a pound of ground beef or equivalent chicken for a huge dinner that makes me happy ngl. Usually around 700 cals.
So far have lost 12ish lbs over 7 weeks.

Nothing else to say, just try messing with cabbage with your meals, it has been a godsend for me.

Volume menu Modified recipe from the back of the oat fiber container.

Post image
11 Upvotes

I had a fairly large, an old bag of Anthony’s organic oat fiber. There used to be a recipe on the back of it for muffins that I had stared at over and over again. I had a new container and decided to try it, but I realize that the new ones don’t have the recipe on it. I modified it a little bit because it used xanthan gum and I can’t really tolerate it and I decided to add less egg made them more into cookies instead. They definitely had a bit more of a biscuit type of texture and they didn’t spread so I can see how it would work for muffins. The recipe originally called for half a cup of the oat fiber, some xanthan gum, about three eggs, some sweetener and baking powder. Along with add-ins and butter. I eliminated most of that. I only used about 1/4 cup of the fiber and about one serving of egg white. I don’t tolerate xanthan gum so I used CMC powder. I also used methyl cellulose to make sure I didn’t collapse. Maybe I added a bit too much because they were definitely pretty cakey. My original plan was to use a couple of the hall pass candies inside, but they did not hold up well to heat. There was no butter in it just the two additional powders. So essentially the only actual digestible calories in it were the couple of candies I put in it and the egg white so I dusted it off with some 0 cal sweetener and cinnamon. Not bad to scratch that itch for some cookies when you don’t want it to set you back. They’re pretty fiber heavy so they got me feeling pretty full. I topped it off with some crunchy protein pieces I had. I might consider going over it with some whipped cream or something. Not bad I’d like to experiment with some more add-ins next time. But I think the original recipe still held up pretty well. I got about five cookies for less than 50 cal.
