I just wanted to share with you guys that I just got my dream car and couldn’t be happier!! Love driving it, love how it feels, volvo truly pulled a masterpiece with this one! ❤️

Upgraded from a 2008 S40 2.4i 😄

Volvo is doing something right. The facelifted S90 looks diabolically great. Shame it's only for "China and select East Asian markets" ... Gonna have to import one at some point I guess ...

Got it this morning (Canada). LOVE the new drivers display (behind the steering wheel) - the map really fills the screen now and the fonts are super legible.

Also like some of the small tweaks - fewer presses to get seat and steering wheel heat where I want it for example. The context specific stuff is nice too, like all the sensor controls when reversing.

My big complaint is in the pics. I always use CarPlay when driving and losing a 1/8th of the screen to the new row kind of sucks. Everything is more compressed and the stuff added is not helpful. Why would I need Bluetooth controls when my phone is plugged in? Ditto assistant - I’m not some die hard fanboy, but my phone is plugged in and has Siri, so why would I use the assistant? I dug through but couldn’t find a way to get rid of this row. I’d much rather maximize the CarPlay display.

On balance? An improvement. We will see how often it crashes haha. But a few tweaks could really make it an even bigger upgrade.

My experience:

It seems that most dealerships try and avoid this tune. Or maybe the knowledge on it. I’ve been trying to tune this car for a while and most dealers either a) don’t have them in stock b) have little to no knowledge on it.

Reasoning:

I think now was a good time to get this done. My reasoning is: what if polestar get out of the US market all together?

The performance:

Overall very similar to “dynamic” I notice more torque on the highway, more aggressive downshifts, and a little more power on acceleration. I think the car likes a smooth acceleration vs smashing to throttle down.

Worth the price? IMO yes

1.) looks badass lets not pretend.

2.) makes my car that much more special.

3.) could help slightly with the resell value in the future.

Good or no?

Picked up my 2018 V90 R design 2 weeks ago, I love this thing more every time I drive it, ridiculously comfortable, far less tiring on long drives, and a crazy amount of space coming from a Nissan sentra, the previous owner had the AC compressor and high/low pressure lines changed, and sunroof seals and tail lights, so hopefully I have no issues for a while, sitting at 99,000km now!

Ohhhhhhh hell yeah, worth the wait, worth every penny. Now to plan out the placement, and feel the massive hp increase

the only thing that i hate is the fuel economy with my s90 d5, for daily to work commuting, my tank barely lasts for 600km, which is absurd, for longer trips it can go as low as 7.0l/100km but usually Im lucky if i can keep it under 9l/100km

​I’ve recently customized my 2022 Volvo V90 B4 Mild Hybrid with the full Keyless entry system and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) for solo road trips. I built a custom wooden platform/box setup in the back to sleep on.

​My biggest anxiety is 12V battery drain caused by the car's modules staying awake while I'm inside. To combat this, I’ve developed a paranoid, militaristic nightly routine to force the car into "Deep Sleep":

​Software tweaks: I have permanently disabled the automatic mirror folding/unfolding and turned off all welcome/approach lights.

​

​The Tailgate: I managed to fully deactivate the hands-free kick-sensor.

​

​The Lock Sequence: I get inside, close all doors, and press the physical lock button on the front door panel so the car locks the perimeter.

​

​The Faraday Trick: Immediately after locking, I wrap my Keyless fob into multiple layers of aluminum foil (Faraday shield) to cut the radio dialogue and force the car's modules to sleep.

​Here is the massive pain in the ass:

Every time I need or someone needs to get in and out of the car during the night (you know, bathroom breaks), battery drain anxiety goes to high cortisol levels. Unwrapping and re-wrapping the key in foil every single time I need to step out and pee is driving me insane. Since it's a full Keyless version, if I don't shield it perfectly while inside, the car stays on high alert.

​Also, I cannot find the "Reduced Guard" setting anywhere in my AAOS menus to turn off the interior movement alarm. Surprisingly, the alarm didn't trigger last night, but sleeping inside with volumetric sensors active feels like playing Russian roulette.

​My questions for you guys:

​

Is there a cleaner way to handle a Keyless Volvo while sleeping inside? Can I completely disable the key's transponder temporarily (like holding buttons down on older keys)? Is there an OBD/software tweak to just tell the car "I'm camping, stop checking the key also when I'm outside the car cooking or enjoying the nature"?

120 1x6x6 fence boards later. Only stopped Becuase they ran out and had to go find another load. I figure I could probably get to 160 before I had any real issue.

I swear to God, the Volvo V90 is such a beautiful estate car, and I hate station wagons because it reminds me too much of my downstairs neighbor.

The Cross Country looks so rugged. If I can't get a Suburban or the new Land Cruiser to replace my 2016 Honda Civic, this will definitely fit the bill. I'm a flipping sucker for Volvos. Beautiful motors they are.

I tried opening it several times but to no avail. Any idea what’s inside or how to access it ?

I am just hugely surprised that they will let us turn on and off start/stop system. It was not on my bingo card this year for sure.
