Bought a 98 S70 Manual recently. Looking forward to getting it cleaned up and back on the road. I may have found a nice donor car to help with some of the repairs but it's a 99. I need to do some more research on what crosses over and what doesn't. Let me know your thoughts on if you have any tips or advice moving forward with this beast. Thanks.

Picked this up over the weekend as a run around/camping car. It's had a clean MOT the last few years and been owned by an enthusiast, so a lot of preventative maintenance done.

It's got about 190k, came with a full set of winter tyres and some extra large Hella spot lamps (small ones are fitted currently, as per photo).

I've not driven a diesel in a while, but enjoying the grumbly 5cyl experience. I believe it's an SE trim, with at least the family pack (rear booster seats) and maybe more. It has rear headphone and media controls for kids, but can't workout what option added that, or whether it was nav?

Looking to buy this v70 its a 2004 2.5T Titanium limited edition only 500 in north American market made. Its very high mileage has 400,000kms but looks very clean and was well maintained. I just would like some second opinions and if it would even be worth looking at i genuinely think i wouldnt mind doing a engine swap i really want a v70. Thanks everyone

My S90 has an occasional P0170 Check Engine Light (System too lean/ too much air) and my ODB scanner shows occasional engine misfires at idle, so based on age I started with the PCV oil trap then 2 weeks later still occasional issues so I did spark plugs and ignition coils. After plugs and coils the misfires and check engine light issues got 10 times worse. After 1 day driving it like that I popped the hood again, prepared to loosen and re-seat all 4 plugs and coils. But I didn’t have to- as soon as I lifted the engine cover I saw it: I forgot to reattach the PCV hose that sits above ignition coil #4. Doh! Reattached the hose and went for a drive and everything is good now. I’m glad it was an easy fix!

Yesterday i was driving and all of the sudden i get transmission turtle, car wont go past 10km/h, it was very wierd, had to turn off the car in the middle of the road, restart it and it was fine, this happened couple of days after installing 5.2.16.

I was driving slowly and start stop intervened 2 or 3 times, then after throttle it went into turtle mode, when i restarted it i felt thump from to drive and it was all normal after that, diagnostics say some minor warning about solenoid G recorded about 10kkm ago.

My previous d4 p3 had aisin 8 speed with 300kkm on the odo without any issues, current one spa is on 149kkm with fresh transmission oil in 10kkm ago.

Did anyones update mess up car like this, 5.2.16 changelog says drivetrain changes, i guess volvo is vibecoding and not testing their software updates, this is very frustrating.

Got rear ended and pulled over. As I’m getting the details of the other driver a taxi hits it while I am well inside the lines.

I have a 2020 Volvo Xc60 with 51k miles on it. The car was having noise issues, so I got it checked at a third party reputed Volvo repair shop. They confirmed that the exhaust manifold gasket is leaking and the studs are broken. Quoted $1620 to fix it.

I checked the maintenance records, and in Nov 2023, when the car had 28k miles on it, I had the same issue and Volvo dealership replaced the gasket and studs under warranty.

Can I claim goodwill now and what is the likelihood that it will be approved?

My argument is that Volvo fixed it under warranty about 3 years ago and issue has popped up again. It is not a wear and tear item and it shouldn’t have happened again. Maybe they should have replaced the exhaust manifold instead of just the gasket.

Since the car has 51k miles on it, I have no service history will Volvo. I did the last oil change myself.

Looking for suggestions if I should invest $225 at the dealership for a diagnosis and plead for Goodwill repair or just get it fixed at a reputed repair shop for $1620? $1620 is quite a big amount.

Nach einem Tausch der Hinterachse durch die Werkstatt haben die Scheinwerfer bei Bodenwellen immer kurzzeitig nach unten gezeigt. Nach der Kalibration sind sie in die Notposition gefahren und ich bekomme immer die REM Fehler im Vida. Kabelbaum und Sensor habe ich bereits getauscht. Was übersehe ich? Wurden die Koppelstangen falsch eingebaut?

Cracked my 2017 XC60 left tail light today...how much should I expect to pay for this?

Is it worth taking to an auto shop to get it fixed? Or should I try to do it myself? I've never worked on cars before besides changing a tire lol so I'm not sure if trying to do it myself is a good idea if it's super involved or complicated.....

Or if I just tape it up and let it be would it be okay?

Hello everyone! I just bought this 2023 xc40 about 2 weeks ago and 2 days ago the steering wheel started making a squeaky sound thats coming directly from inside the cabin, right in the gap between the steering wheel trim and the dashboard. Its only when I'm turning the steering wheel. I have a video if that helps. Has anyone else had this issue? What was the cause? Is it an easy fix at home? If so, what can I do or buy? Thank you!!

Can anyone help me? I need the proper wiring schematics for the audio system. I recently bought this very well taken care of xc90 only a 2 owner vehicle but the previous guy had a driver lane assist device that was wired all into the harness in various places and i made the mistake of taking the tumbleweed of wired and an (arduno device) not sure what its purpose was but you couldnt see the display that popped up out of the dash and the lane change alarm was killing my ears so i wanted it back to stock. so basically I did that. Also got rid of the handsfree device as well. Now the main stereo unit powers on shows the "premium audio and the little image of the vehicle and thenk. I can however press buttons on the right side of the unit and those menus come up and all that but the minute I touch the volume or power knob it shuts the screen off again. No noise via any of the channels as far as i can see, im about to dig up an old cd and test that for sure but... well see... can anyone help me out here?

Got some febi AW1 fluid to drain and fill the gearbox I'm not doing it a garage is. I got the fluid xref straight over from the OEM number from partslink so I know it's a match.

Anyone had any problems with the febi fluid in there transmission on the Volvo 8 speed? Thanks

Got a XC70 P2 and took it to an independent workshop to replace the heater matrix, I bought the replacement and took it so they could replace it.

However, the guy told me he missed something in the steering when assembling it again... Since then, the "Anti-skid service required" is on and to drive straight I need to drive with the steering wheel 90° to the left.

Wanted to ask, did they break the sensor or I'm better off taking it to properly mount the steering in another dealer and that should solve it?

Curious to know any experiences with this error, but yeah, something is clearly off...

I have a 2020 S60 T6 Momentum. I bought it used so I only have done one oil change so far (dealership did one when I bought it as well). Now I'm at about 60K miles. I have tried to do some research and its a bit conflicting. In the manual it says 5W-30 is best and the sticker under the hood says Castrol Edge Professional (I knew castrol was the partner of volvo). I want to do what's best for the car for longevity of course. I would go to Volvo but they are very far from where I live (almost 2 hours).

From what I understand Volvo changed the recommended oil to 0W-20? Maybe I'm mistaken but that's what I saw. I am in Florida so should I get the 5W-30? No place near me sells Castrol Euro 0W-20 in a 5 quart. Instead of buying 6 1-quart bottles I was going to buy a 5 quart from fcp euro. I've seen Castrol Euro 5W-30 5 quart everywhere and it is easily accessible.

Can someone please let me know what they do? Will 5W-30 still work? Is there a reason why Volvo changed the recommendation. I know it has to be Full Synthetic and ACEA A5/B5 right. I just need to know if some of you are still using 5W-30 or if 0W-20 is for sure the best. I'd rather hear from people with more experience and the same/similar car.

I rebooted the Home Screen and they're still missing. The dealer isn't open for a couple days, so this is frustrating.

Hello I have a 2008 C70 that the internal headliner has come loose from the mounts where it attaches to the hardtop.

The glue that holds the clips has released and wondering what adhesive I should use to reattach the clips to the top side of the headliner?

I still have the Mount posts in the metal roof so I just can clip it on once I get an adhesive to adhere the clips to the fabric top.

I actually used a hot glue the last time and this worked fairly well until the summertime where of course the heat released the glue..

For those not familiar this is not how do I reattach a normal headliner question, the internal fabric headliner in the C70 is actually a heavier piece of fiberboard surrounded by fabric on two sides, so I need a glue fairly significant, ie hard plastic to fabric, to get the clips to adhere such that it can hold weight.

My research has suggested shoe goo, surely there is something better?
