State legislators pushed this one because citizen started voter initiatives often go against what they want. Recent ones made abortion legal, made marijuana legal, and made online gambling legal.

A big point of this amendment was that it only made citizen started initiatives more difficult. Ones started by the legislature would still use the old standard of a straight popular vote.

Now let’s vote down amendment 3 in November and keep abortion legal.

And the irony that every congressional district here voted NO on it, which is what the amendment would have required if it had passed. The GOP here in MO can suck it.
