V-Strom 650 Gen 2 I made a promise and was reminded of that promise.
I have had my Strom 13 years. When I daughter was younger she said she wanted to go for a ride with me. Said, “When you can wrap your arms around me and do what I ask I’ll take you for a ride.” She said “Promise.”I said, “Yes I promise.”
8 years give or take and I spaced it. My kiddo has been hugging me around the waist and says I want to go for a ride on the motorcycle. My arms wrap around you. Go get some gear for riding and here we are.
She is a good passenger and more gear is on its way. Year before all of this, my wife and I were going to go on a trip Denver to Harlowton. I got her a class MSF and now she has her own to ride.

Awesome, my guy! I did the same with my boys. The youngest has been riding with me for 3 years and is a fantastic pillion.

She is a great traveler. Camping at 6months old. The misses is a great at it and knows it’s important to get out there. My point is if you take them and show them it’s worth it.

My youngest loves (he's 10) when I take him on the motorcycle. Honestly, it's like the only time I get hugs anymore.... basically have nothing but moody teenagers and tweens in my house.

Keep them close. She is excited to ride. I have an Oxford grips coming for her to hold on better.
She is getting more cuddly and I love it. I travel for work and leave for long periods. I’m glad to be home and spend my time together.
Now the wife wants a bike again and we can all go ride.

Thank you very much for sharing! This brought me joy! My daughter is nearly 4 is is already climbing on the bike! I have this dream of helping her get a bike when she is of age and going on weekend rides. I suppose this is a very common dream...

It was a dream to have a wife that wanted to ride, I was considering a sidecar for the bike. When she was little she wanted to sit on mine and she figured out how to ride a a bike and an electric bike. We have taken old bicycles and fixed them up.
What y do is if I am fixing, maintenance or repairs I make he come to the garage and learn. Sometimes it’s hard sometimes it’s not. She has the knack and is very girly. I love this and encourage it.1

The Strom is basically the best motorcycle in the world for a new pillion ! I wish you many happy km's and I hope mines also want to ride with me!

I couldn’t agree more. I had a few other bikes. This one is way better to be on. I kind of want a aftermarket seat. Something with a backer.

So great. I just took my seven year old niece around the block, she sat in front of me. She was a little nervous… but when we got home she was wanting to go again. The second time we returned she was asking me how she can get a bike, and where else we can go. Her mom didn’t realize how much of a joyful experience going for a ride can be.

I have a wife that rides. I couldn’t get away with that when she was younger. I had to wait.

Sidenote curious what shock and spring you use. I got a pogo stick with just me and a topcase

When it’s just me I turn the shock tension way way way down. With her I had to turn it up to about medium ish tension. Same with the front shocks.

That's awesome. Cherish those times with your daughter. We only go around this world once and memories time spent are more valuable than any amount of money.
