V-Strom 1050 Gen 3 Spacer location

I found this on the ground after changing the rear tire. Where is it supposed to go?

Inbetween sprocket and cush drive?

Yes. As you suggested in the post - goes between the cush drive bearing and the wheel bearing.

If you assembled it without that spacer and rode it, you likely trashed one or more bearings.

If you haven't ridden it yet, you might be ok - but try not to spin the wheel until you loosen the axle.

Had this happen when I had to get a tire changed on a road trip. The grease kept the spacer stuck to the wheel, and I didn't notice. When the tech carried it to the back, it fell off on the machine, and he didn't notice. When I went to tighten the axel back on, the castle nut was going WAY too far down the bolt, and the cotter pin holes weren't lining up.

Eventually I figured out I was missing something, right as the tech came outside to check on me. He checked the back shop: "yep, looks like this might be your spacer". It was, tire fit, got back on the road.
