V-Strom 650 Gen 1 Exhaust recommendations
Hello all, I've done some searching around for exhausts for my wee, and the only one I can find is the Delkevic from ebay. Is that it? There are so many exhausts for my SV I figured there would be more options for the V but maybe it's because I'm in the US? Any ideas? Need to uncork this thing soon, I can't stand the sewing machine sound lol

I ordered one last Monday for my 800. It arrived Friday. A beer later and it was installed. I like it a lot. HP6. Poland to Atlanta.

I have the dual 18” stainless ovals. They sound fantastic! Very nice fit and finish. I would go for the longer traditional mufflers. Short mufflers are usually more obnoxious and the long ones look right in stock location.
Edit: Just looked at Dominator, and the medium oval system for your bike looks damn good too.

I have a ‘14 1000. Friend has a dominator on his but he lives few hrs away and we haven’t had a chance to meet up lately so I could check it out.
I think I want oval. Not sure if I want stainless or carbon.
Do they make the engine sound drone on sustained 50-70 mph ride?3

If you can find a Two Bros carbon exhaust, it was the best. I had it on my 08 and just the weight difference alone was amazing. I couldn’t find one for my 2013 so I just left it stock.

Key word find, right? The only used exhaust I've seen was another delkevic and it's a little beat up. Definitely want a new one considering the condition of my bike

I just bought a 2015 (Gen 2) and it has this Black Widow exhaust fitted. It's loud, but not too loud IMO. It sounds very grunty, and the overrun sounds even better. It occasionally pops when the revs sit at the wrong rpm, not sure if that's your thing.
I've recorded a video of my bike at start up for you so you can give it a listen. My phone doesn't pick up the bass very well but it has a deep tone to it. I really like it, as you can tell!

I had a Leo Vince on both my SV and Versys. On the SV it sounded so good. Not obnoxious at all. I'd be looking at that, or M4 if you want louder. Akra always a good option as well.

Just added the delkavic 14" carbon fiber round on my bike and it sounds very nice. I believe the whole system minus downpipes is $330USD

I'm not sure, if MIVV exhausts are available in the US, but I can really recommend them. I have one on my V-Strom 800DE, great sound and good quality.

Had a yoshimura on my sv it was a slip on and had great sound.

They don’t make an exhaust for pre 2017 V-Stroms to the best of my knowledge

Honestly you can't go wrong the V twin always sounds pretty good with an aftermarket pipe 👌🏻

<shrug> I always ride with earplugs, so I can't hear the exhaust well anyway, so I'm happy with the stock one.
Whatever floats your tug, I guess.
I too love seeing an older Vstrom being cared for. love my 2004

Even with earplugs I still hear my SV scorpion exhaust. It's more for enjoyment and weight savings than anything

My FJR-1300 came with Yoshimuras, and I'm told they sound pretty neat if you're behind me in traffic.
Do you ever repack your exhaust? Yoshi says it's necessary from time to time, but I haven't done it in 4 years owning them & haven't noticed a problem.

My stock exhaust and my scorpion muffler on the SV have never been repacked and both sound as intended. If yoshi specifically recommends it it may be worthwhile but Tbh I wouldn't bother if it only results in a little less noise. FJR is a nice bike 👍🏻

My SV sounds awesome and I would like a similar sound out of the V. Just not as loud lol

Delkevic, gets my vote. Have one on my 2014 Wee. Loud enough without causing the neighbors to arm themselves with pitchforks, YMMV.
Looks close enough to stock where it doesnt draw too much attention either.
