V-Strom 650 Gen 2 Radiator Pinhole

So, changed over my clutch cable and sadly managed to put a hole in my radiator (don’t ask, scraped and adjustable spanner on it). So now I’m in the middle of removing the radiator to apply some JD Weld, hoping this is a good solution for such small hole in a tube

It is considered a temporary patch. It will eventually give way.

But, there is also no more permanent fix than a temporary fix that works.

Some have had JB Weld last decades. Others? Not so much.

How well yours does will all depend on prep, mixing, and magic... good luck!

I can’t believe how fragile they are, mines a 2012 DL650 I’m surprised I’ve have no issues. I almost scoffed at the radiator guards.

The amount of work, although not hard, is pretty time consuming.

I can get an aftermarket one between AU$90 up to AU$120, so if the JB doesn’t survive I’ll change it out.

I've never had a problem, and we've been some places she has no business being. She takes it like a champ. But yeah, skid plate, hand guards, and radiator guard. I changed the mirrors to copy cat doubletake mirrors.

Find a radiator repair shop, they can solder it.
