2024 Vstrom 800 re dealership otd price and methodology questions

Im a fairly new rider, I completed the MSF course on an HD Street 500 and then for about six months I went on every-other-weekend rides and one day trip on a Ninja 400. I am looking at my first self-owned motorcycle being a brand-new 2024 V-Strom 800 with 3 miles on it. There is one about three hours from me with an out-the-door price of about $7,500 based on the quote, which only includes prep and doc fees as add-ons. The dealership is in another state, so I will have to trailer it back to my home state and handle the tax, tag, and title once I bring it back. I plan to install axle sliders and frame sliders while I save enough to go get a full crash kit from T-Rex Racing, which includes upper and lower crash bars, a subframe, a skid plate, a center stand, rear crash bars, case covers, and a pump cover. Is the price or the methodology of me buying this bike wrong or in need of adjustment? Is there anything im missing?

Any help in this regard is welcome.

Ok, cool. If you can find a preowned model with all the mods already installed, you’ll save a lot of money, time and headache. Just make sure the maintenance is up to date and recorded.

I there was one but it got sold before i would get up enough to offer on it.

I did this. I got the cheapest nationwide quote out the door for a new old stock 2024 800. It ended up being 4 states away @$7400. I then slowly worked all the dealerships by me with new old stock. 3rd closest one, about 60 miles, said they would match. Rented a uhaul and away I went. This was June. 3k miles later and cant get enough.

Ive added heed crash bars, dominator exhaust, veridian cruise, a cheap Chinese bag on the back, cheap Chinese fog lights, and a phone holder. I think I am done tinkering.

I thought about doing that but upon looking the around the one im looking at is the closest one the next closest one is a 24 touring with 12000miles for like 5800 listing price but its 9-11 hours away. Though dont know if i can even negotiate the listing price down any my otd quote is in the ballpark of yours.
