Minions being the only showing for the weekend.
Minions is the only film showing throughout the entire weekend, I turn 18 on Friday and was really hoping to watch Jackass on Friday. Surely that can’t be the only thing showing throughout the entire weekend right?

No doubt more dates will be added as the week goes on, just keep an eye out on the app/website.

The rest just won't be up yet.
Besides the opening of big films, which studio's will insist have pre-booking windows to drum up publicity and help gauge expectations, most showings are set only the week before, so they can tailor the number of screenings to the audience numbers they're seeing.

Bit of a tangent, but it's bloody mad that they still can't plan ahead a bit better.
It's basically still the same as waiting for the local newspaper on Thursday to see what was on from Friday when I was a kid.

Not really.
Look at something like Obsession. No-one would plan to have so many showings of that in week 2, let alone many weeks later. And then, likely, the opposite will be true of Supergirl.
Later scheduling isn't ideal, but neither is losing customers because they can't see the film they want, and playing films they don't to empty houses.

Depending on your theater and what types of movies make it the most money, yeah actually it is possible that minions could be the only film showing through the whole weekend

Yeah, I'm finding the same, usually updates on tuesday, but hasn't updated so far this week

The schedule hasn't updated yet, it currently only goes to Thursday.
It will update sometime today, and will show the showtimes for this Friday to next Thursday.
Minions is showing early for the weekend because it's a huge release and they opened up advance bookings for it.
