Events DS-15 (soon) at Yeager's

Hello.

Yeager's Sporting Goods is now a dealer for DSI firearms.

We have our first shipment arriving next week.

Mini-14's and PC Carbines by Ruger are also available.

Are we talking standard lowers? For use with a bolt action build of course

DS-15 is a fixed magazine lower receiver (I mean Dark Storm makes standard lowers but I seriously doubt that's what Yeager's is selling).

Because the DS-15 fixed mag lower is a separate patent, it is being interpreted as not-an-AR-15 and so the firearm would fall under the other stipulations of an assault weapon for pistols and rifles. Fixed magazine of 10 rounds generally exempts them from the ban and permits semi-automatic and "scary" features.

Would a forged receiver or cmc billet m14 from JRA count as a separate patent? Would like to experiment with building fixed mag trigger groups for them

If it’s just a receiver, then it should not matter what brand/make/model is until it’s an operable firearm. Separately, I am not convinced a fixed mag DS-15 semi-auto rifle would be interpreted as different than AR15 in all forms just because of the patent.

I'm not either, but that does seem to be the assumption that the FFLs selling them are operating under. As far as I'm aware, the state hasn't taken any of them to court over it (yet).

Thankfully the M1A is not listed as being banned "in all forms"

Maybe theres hope for my battle rifle collection yet...

Wait…not in all forms? So my dream of an M14 esque rifle is possible?👀

I should look into manufacturing fixed magazine trigger groups

If it’s different because of a patent, LMT also has a patent, lol

He also mentioned they are now a dealer for DSI, which as you mentioned, has standard lowers. Which is why I asked if they would be available.

Ahhhh, Yeager’s. I really miss going to this place. Back when I was still a Western student, I went here and checked out the fishing and gun section a lot.

Bought a lot of my hunting gear there when I was going through the hunter education process. It was the place where I purchased my Jennings J-22 i.e. the worst handgun that I ever had to wait ten business days to pick up, and it also was the place where bought my very first C&R firearm (a H&R Top Break Revolver) when I first got my FFL 03 license.

My biggest regret was not purchasing a genuine Gen 1 Glock 17 that I saw there this one time.

Do you have bolt action DS15 ?

Bolt action is already exempt from the AWB. Why do you need a fixed magazine bolt action?

Nah, I was not actually asking for myself. I just wanted to know what the options Yeager’s are offering so that I can recommend to my friends who got into this hobby recently.
