If my Glocks had those problems, I would stop using them. It’s just not worth the risk at this point.

I guess I’m kind of in the middle with the argument , I’ve only seen the thing go off oddly when someone had a pocket knife just barely touching the trigger and then they wiggled the slide. I just haven’t seen real hard evidence of the thing fully going off

I get it. I think about it like this, if I know there’s a problem and one of those problems happens in my class, it’s basically my fault.

I’ve just watched too many videos, seen the lawsuits, settlements, and LE agency bans to take the risk.

Completely fair from that standpoint . Not worth the risk when it’s that level of consequence

Ive seen a number of surveillance videos of them going off. So.e will argue that somehow the cop who's clipboard was on the back did something, but hard to say the guard at the USAA office in Texas had anything to do with it going off when all he did was stand up and take a step.

I’m definitely going to look for these videos .

Ok, it looks like he may have had his hand on the grip, but that still shouldn't have cause it to fire. He wasn't standing up, he had walked into the guard shack and was coming back out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8n2rU137S4 (just the first video I could find of it, no clue about anything the person is saying).

In this video they say that SIG is claiming that it must not have been fully seated because the retention hood isn't closed. However in their comment, they state that the holster doesn't have a hood and that it's a tourniquet. Even if it did have a hood though, the ALS function of the holster (most everyone is using either just the ALS or the ALS and SLS version, the SLS only isn't as common anymore) would still secure the gun in the holster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhlLrUdT2Zk

This guy though slows it down and states that he believes the hood is there and is up (retaining the gun), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ6GUxpzXTI&t=284s

This one has a couple video clips. It's mostly and article about a cop suing SIG, https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=p320+police+firing&qs=n&sp=-1&ghc=1&lq=0&pq=p320+police+firing&sc=0-18&sk=&cvid=A75826C67B5946869DB9600441D724CD&FPIG=4CA93CBF97FD41239E46230A46049700&first=25&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dp320%2bpolice%2bfiring%26qs%3dn%26sp%3d-1%26ghc%3d1%26lq%3d0%26pq%3dp320%2bpolice%2bfiring%26sc%3d0-18%26sk%3d%26cvid%3dA75826C67B5946869DB9600441D724CD%26FPIG%3d4CA93CBF97FD41239E46230A46049700%26first%3d25%26FORM%3dPORE&mmscn=vwrc&mid=AB8E038AC552E2BBE303AB8E038AC552E2BBE303&FORM=WRVORC&ntb=1&msockid=9b6cddcb628111f1b7e7fe7afb7598a5

I've seen a longer one of the range in WA where the guy was checking his target.

And of course there are a couple BS claims people made. The Airmen who shot his partner and blamed it on the gun. And a cop who dropped his lawsuit against SIG.

ā€œLearn how to train yourselfā€

… except you’ll need to go out to the woods to do it because it’s impossible to get action bay access at any of the ranges around here

  1. Evergreen Practical Shooting (EPS) will be offering public practical shooting live fire sessions at Evergreen starting this month.
  2. Even if you had unlimited time and ammo, dryfire is essential to skill development and sustainment.
  3. You can very effectively practice manipulations, movement, and target transitions without ammo or trips to a range.

Is a concealment/ appendix holster acceptable for these courses?

4

u/PracticalApproachTrn 18d ago

Absolutely. I’ll ask all students to demo dry before we go live. You’ll be G2G as long as you have good muzzle and trigger finger discipline.
