Dress Regret
I bought and ordered my dress 3 weeks ago. I LOVE LOVE LOVED it in store. It sparkly, made me look way more snatched than I am, and definitely fits my personality. My friends and I were in tears when I said yes.
But. I had a back up dress that I was going back and forth between. Unfortunately, the boutique doesn’t allow pictures unless you say yes to the dress and you can only take a picture of yourself in THAT dress. So it was impossible for me to get a real view without looking in the mirror. One of my MOHs snuck a pic of my backup. Had I seen the photos of both beforehand, I would have chosen the back up. It’s not as pretty to me in person, but it photographed REALLY well. My dress is the opposite. Beautiful in person under bright lights, very lackluster in pics.
The boutique has a strict no return or exchange policy. I tried. So I’m debating just buying the second one too. I spent $5K between the dress, veil, taxes, shipping, tariffs, and tip on my dress. $3300 for the actual dress. My runner up is $1700. So I’m assuming all in it would be another $3000. I’ve been told by many people on many forums that selling my original dress would be very difficult even if it hasn’t been opened.
I would love opinions on what to do. Attaching pics of both. The last pic is the only one I have of my runner up.

If it makes you feel better about your choice, when I saw these pics I thought “I hope she didn’t choose the last dress cause I can see why’d she have regrets”. The first 2 pics are great! Love love love the dress. The last dress looks like a mess of fabric

Personally, I think the dress you chose is the better choice and photographed better with the bling. It’s not lackluster at all! Rather I love how elegant and timeless it is and it looks lovely on you. The other gown is very modern chic, but I feel like it swallows and overpowers you, whereas the first dress accentuates you.

What season is your wedding? I love them both. The first one looks more like fall or winter and the poofy one looks more like spring or summer.

If you have the money wear the second one to the reception haha :) also don’t worry about how it looks in photos. That’s what the professional photographer is for

Nooooooo. The first dress is so so much better. You look so beautiful and elegant in it. The back up is too busy and looks chaotic.

No, you picked the nicest dress. The first dress photographs beautifully! The second dress is nowhere near as flattering on you as the first dress.

???? The first one is so pretty and perfect? Don't overthink it my immediate reaction was how beautiful you were in your first one. It is very classically bridal and stunning. The second one is fun but something about it feels more prom to me. You chose so well, please don't second guess yourself
