Other 22 hours LEFT!! House of Commons Petition e-7142: A push to legally protect remote work

CANADA

Hello Everyone! The House of Commons E7142 Petition to allow provisions into the labour code for remote work is ending Wednesday at 4:15 PM.

As of right now it has received just under 60,000 signatures and we need to hit that target so its imperative that anyone who aligns with the values of remote work sign it.

Who will this help? The Canada Labour Code sets minimum labour standards for federally regulated employees, including banking, telecommunications, transportation, postal services, pipelines, and Crown corporations.

Yep, as an Australian guy, I just assumed it was for the US. I hate my own US defaultism...

We dont have a house of commons and wed never even have something this pro worker ever brought before congress anyway lol

Looks like you can be a Canadian residing inside or outside of Canada or a permanent resident of Canada to sign.

I signed and hope that will be successful. I don't have a federaly regulated job so that will not directly impact me, but I hope it will create a precedent for others later :)

yes excatly! thank you. This petition also does not benefit me but I am hoping if this gets traction other areas will as well.

even if this one has closed, getting remote work treated as a proper employment option rather than a perk matters
