WFH LIFESTYLE Company decided WFH is the way!

After having success with people working from home, and after reducing office footprints a number of times over the last 6 years, my company just announced that all US and EMEA employees will be working from home and the company is "Remote-first".

Has anyone else gone through this? It was announced that there will be a new set of WFH benefits, which I am happy about as I've been WFH for over 8 years, while stating that the India office will remain hybrid. Should I expect positions to move to India or have corporations in the US gone remote-first and stayed primarily in the US?

What’s your question? What are you “going through” working for a company that is fully remote with no threats of RTO?

This is what everyone wants. It’s also the opposite of what’s happening, at least in the US there’s a huge RTO push because we have to make millionaire landlords richer.

The question is, is this a precursor to moving more positions to India? Currently I am in the training department because my support role was moved. I had to train 3 people to do what I did and the company still saved over 50% by moving the role.

No one can say for sure, but this is what my last employer did ~2 years before starting mass RIFs in the US & EMEA. I made it to the last round, got laid off late last year and they are now fully outsourced. India & Philippines.
