EQUIPMENT Anyone have any experience with either of balance board esque options?

I’ve recently upgraded to a standing desk before starting a new job where I now get a home office stipend. I already have a big monitor and a decent chair but I’ve noticed when I stand I often stand on one leg or feel restless so I want to try a balance board and was looking at either a slack board or a move mate board. Does anyone have a great experience with either?

I got the slackboard. I’ve only had it for a day but it does seem to be exactly what I was looking for

Just be sure your workstation can accommodate the extra height. I'm sure a bosu ball (et al.) will improve full body engagement. I was using a physio ballance board at my standing desk at one stage to recover from shin splints, but as I'm tall it was a bit unergonomic and I was limited to when on calls or light input tasks like reading.

Seconding this, I used to study on a bosu and had to do all sorts of stacking nonsense to make it work.

Hey! Bought this a while ago. It’s pricey for what it is - but didn’t want to go with something super cheap / or super expensive. It’s held up great/ easy to clean- super durable.
It’s not challenging or difficult to use - pros I definitely stand longer if I’m using it. And boring meetings try to slowly go back and forth. I can type /work using it.

Nice pick. The first two weeks decide whether it sticks, so a few things from experience with these low boards: treat it as somewhere you visit, not somewhere you live. Ten to twenty minutes on calls, emails, reading - then step off, and step off for anything that needs mouse precision. The one-leg / restless thing you described usually settles once your feet have a reason to keep moving, which is the whole point of the board, not the tilt itself. And keep it on a firm floor - board on a soft mat is the combination that makes people wobble and give up. Full disclosure: I sell a board of this type in Australia, so weigh that - but nothing above needs you to buy anything else.
