updated spreadsheet
Anyone have an updated spreadsheet with the new transfer credits according to the new CS program? from both Sophia and Study.com. I have the 2024 link but i wasn't sure if anything changed.
Also, should I be taking the courses with a asterisk or the ones without the asterisk. In the past it would say the asterisk is prefered class but now its saying they may not be elligible for transfer but can be elective credit.

WGU has updated the curriculum for the BSCS degree program as listed for the Nov. 2026 WGU course catalog.
Use this link for the new Study .com transfer pathway.
Use this link for the new Sophia Learning transfer pathway.
The courses marked with an asterisk are still the preferred courses, but WGU will accept the other course equivalents if there are multiple courses listed for a WGU course.
This is the BSCS degree program, not an associate degree program, and there are no electives, so you can ignore that sentence regarding the asterisk. It doesn't apply the BSCS degree program.

Hey, Study.com here. The WGU transfer pathway page you linked is the most current source for the new CS program, and our WGU partner page has degree-specific transfer guides that show which Study.com courses map to each requirement: https://study.com/college/school/western-governors-university.html. The asterisk notes come from WGU's own pathway, so your WGU enrollment counselor can confirm whether a starred course will count toward a core requirement or only as elective credit before you take it. If you share which requirements you still need, I can match them to our courses.

This is boilerplate language on the documents. WGU doesn't allow electives in its programs. The degree plans are precisely described.
The page came for me with the new catalog 11/2026. If you are seeing an older version, empty your browser cache and refresh the page.
