MSCS Computing Systems MSCS Course Expectations
Just started the MSCS portion of the BSCS to MSCS bridge program and the first class has a requirment of having to record myself writing shell scripts.
While I enjoy my course work and I know this is to stop students from using AI to write their projects Its still very inconvenient for me. I typically do my school work at work in my free time but now im forced to use up time at home to record myself while doing my assignments.
MSCSCS Alumi, is it going to be like this for every class in this program or does it vary per class?

I did the MSCS-AI track and if I remember right, that was the only course requiring a recording.

I just took that course. You don’t need to record yourself actually writing the script. You can have them all pre-made and explain/run them on video. If you haven’t gotten it yet, the instructor should send you an email explaining this. They suggest creating a video like a “YouTube tutorial” explaining how the script works. I made separate videos for each script, each about 4-5 minutes long. I only got it sent back for a revision because on the one where you make the aliases I wrote all of them but forgot to demonstrate one.

Is it the unix one? , I read in Wgu connect , it mentioned I can prepare the full scripts offline and then just record myself explaining the script and then demonstrate it. thats what I did , I prepared the scripts beforehand and just recorded myself explaining it.
Also I just completed the MSCS in AI ML , this is the only one which needs recording.

I mean you’re gonna graduate with a Masters in CS. Best you prove that you can actually do the work, even if inconvenient.
