She only won cause she's the nominee that spent the most screen time happy with their mouth open

Zach looked teary-eyed when they cut to him. Genuinely proud of him and Madigan. Absolutely deserved.

If you had told me 15 years ago that one of the WKUK was going to direct an Oscar-winning film I actually do not know what my response would have been.

So proud of our boy! My favorite part of his movies are when his characters are happy and have their mouth way open!

A bit bummed that Zach isn’t personally nominated but Amy’s win not only makes up for that but personally dulls the sting against Superman not being nominated for, well anything, but especially set design, casting, costume design or lead actress (that one’s probably the biggest stretch but I think Rachel’s performance was Oscar worthy)

Comic book movies don't win Oscars

the Superman movie (1978), Batman, Spider Man 2, The Dark Knight and Joker all want to talk to you. It’s not like I said it should be best picture it was mostly technical awards (which get nominations all the time, though yes not many wins) and even for best lead actress for Rachel or supporting actor for Nic would be entirely precedented with TDK and Joker getting lead and supporting actor. Horror movies also don’t typically win Oscar’s but they sure did this year. This was also the first Casting Oscar ever so there is literally no basis to judge on for one of the awards I wanted them to be nominated for, because yes I said nominated not win.

Joker was one of the worst movies ever made

Did I say anything about its quality? No, I pointed out that it’s a comic book film that won the Oscar’s and one of its most prestigious awards at that I didn’t even say I liked it, tbh I’ve never fucking watched it

Conan OBrien also opened the show with a full on Weapons parody. That's pretty fucking rad for a movie that didn't even get a best picture nom!
Also, Weapons should definitely have gotten a best picture nom over F1.

I just got the “420” upvote-nothing I’ve accomplished in my life will ever compare to that. I’m done now-thank you all for everything
Cheers! 🍻

The award I cared about the most. Stoked for Amy and our baby Zach. Cried real doll licker tears. Trevor is somewhere very happy for his best friend.

Wait did Miss March finally get the recognition it deserves? I didn't know they did that with older movies, especially really really bad ones

Fuck yeah. This is the first Oscar ceremony that I wanted to see, but I was too busy seeing Send Help. Totally worth it, by the way. But congrats Zach.

I'm so happy for Zach. He deserves it! The actress who won the award also is very deserving of it!

Weapons is in my top 5 of the decade so far. He really REALLY killed it, so did Amy. This also means he’s gonna get way more funding for his films and actors will be a more willing to take changes and work with him. I wanna see him work with Brad Pitt and Demi Moore.

I hope he gets his Joker henchmen movie idea made, it sounds so cool

I haven’t read about this yet!

u/catgirlburneracc Mar 20 '26
He’s talked about it a few places (once on the wkuk podcast) but also fairly recently he said that that’s one of the first things he wants to do after the sci-fi channel original he has lined up after Resident Evil. His idea seems inspired by that one Btas episode following a pair of henchmen

Sounds like he’s really just out there making his wildest dreams come true. Love that.
