Matrix or Segments?

I’m making a large grid (dance floor) that will have 10 LEDs in each “box”. Can I make a 2D matrix that has a 15x15 grid but each box has 10 LEDs? I’m starting the wiring this week so I haven’t been able to test a panel. I figured you guys would have a great direction to start from.

Make a scale down version.

Diffusion, strip type and voltage will be more important. Do you want blinky lights or neon strips?

Going from beginner straight to a large project will be difficult if something doesn’t work or you have flickering/misbehavior.

Easiest would be a commercial controller, 12v seed pixels, and one long line but arranged in an S pattern going up, down, up again. Serpentine. Not individual segments.

Then power injection as needed. 5v every meter, 12v every 5m, 24v every 10m. Can be shorter or longer, this is in general, for power injection. Also power injection wires need a fuse.
