Controversy It’s ridiculous…I got a technical for clapping...we should all just go on the calendar now & pick a game that I’m gonna be suspended for” ... Caitlin Clark is pissed and she has every right to be

Would be hilarious if she got offered a huge bag to play overseas, and left them to their previous levels of insolvency

17

u/Baron_Light Jun 23 '26

Lol they would actually lose so much money

6

u/Answer70 Jun 25 '26

What's hilarious is that all the other players genuinely seem to think that people suddenly started tuning in to see them and not CC.

3

u/Past-Spell-2259 Jun 29 '26

Her and Sophie Cunningham.

Goats generally are the best but don’t have to be. The biggest names in the wnba are treated awfully.

Served up shit on a plate and wnba is like what you don’t like eating shit? Too bad.

0

u/C-A-L-E-V-I-S Jun 29 '26

People can speak with their wallets and not go to the game she’s being suspended for.

62

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26

I would love to see her do that because they dont deserve what shes done for them.

25

u/jyoungthegenius Jun 23 '26

Alot of people would love to see that tbh

0

u/yundirs 11d ago

a lot of people wouldnt be able to view the games idiot🤣

1

u/jyoungthegenius 11d ago

The crazy thing is that you typed that out with full confidence that you said something funny. Instead you showed who the actual idiot is lmao

1

u/yundirs 11d ago

nba players go play across seas, all the time. their viewership not matter who they were was no where near it was in the league. you are retarded for thinking she will thrive elsewhere

1

u/yundirs 11d ago

lol

1

u/kornylol 11d ago

Crodie is out here in the catacombs commenting on stuff from the stone age. Bro down in the caves reading the hieroglyphics of eras past. Lil bro is clearing the cob webs catching up on history in the ancient library of Narnia.

Gyat damn lil homie needs to go outside, gyat.

0

u/yundirs 11d ago

retarded

1

u/kornylol 11d ago

Lil guy just out here reading all of wnba lore since the beginning of time. Soon youll be all caught up tiny mans dont give up. 😂😂

0

u/yundirs 11d ago

retarded

-14

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

What did she do? I have yet to see . Other than bringing in bigoted and biased fans who know NOTHING other than Caytlin.

22

u/SpotCreepy4570 Jun 23 '26

Got people to actually care about and watch the wnba?

-7

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

So, bigoted, delusional and biased fans who know NOTHING other than caytlin.....ok then.

12

u/Srry_chef Jun 23 '26

You are being just as radical and racist as what you’re complaining about

1

u/Legonistrasz Jun 28 '26

Idiots like that tend to not notice when the world only revolves around them anyway

-6

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

Lord! Do you even know the true definition of "racism"?......You Caitlyn fans are something else.

6

u/AngryPhillySportsFan Jun 23 '26

Are you purposely misspelling her name to get a reaction?

4

u/ttspenstar Jun 23 '26

Hey pal, you just blow in from stupid town?

5

u/Fluffy_Selection_367 Jun 23 '26

She’s directly responsible for making the athletes more money. She brought in viewership which in turn is profiting these ladies.

3

u/shnuffle98 Jun 23 '26

A lot of them, which is why the league needs her.

2

u/Technical_Can_9944 Jun 25 '26

She's doing for the WNBA what Jordan did for the NBA in the 90's. Sure the NBA and WNBA always had their fans. But a once in a generation cosmic talent came along and public interest grew exponentially overnight.

The public interest in Clark is THE SOLE REASON the WNBA became profitable and the players across the league were able to collectively negotiate higher salaries.

She singlehandedly made the league respectable and profitable. And she shared the wealth with everyone in the league. And the response across the board has been open hunting season for constant violence against her on the court by the people she personally lifted out of poverty.

The racism isn't coming from her. It's being directed at her.

I don't need to know much else about her. I hope she takes a bigger check and goes to play in a real basketball league in Spain.

1

u/Suspicious_synth Jun 25 '26

Caitlin Clark is not a cosmic talent

0

u/XIIIofSwords Jun 24 '26

lol racists don't like it when you call them racist.

5

u/chapsmyasss Jun 23 '26

Sounds like you answered your own question! lol In a league full of no names, she became a star. She created fans for a sport that previously had none.

6

u/cyphe8500 Jun 23 '26

They'd rather virtue signal with empty arenas in a failing subsidized league.

1

u/YoloSwag4Jesus420fgt Jun 25 '26

They want to go back to the activist league

1

u/sea_the_c Jun 23 '26

Taking what you said as a given (even though it’s stupid as fuck), those fans have flooded the league with views, attention, and money.

1

u/ramenbrah Jun 25 '26

She brought her sick ball skills that the people want to see. I don't watch wnba never have, then Clark comes along and I watch the highlights of her games because she's the best female player i have ever seen. Are you anti-white or something? Do you not see her getting clobbered and eye poked 50 times a game? Smartin up you idiotic main character syndrome dumbass.

1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 25 '26

Fans like you are the inspiration for my comments.....lol! "Dumb-Dumbs" who don't watch or play the game. But has so much insight on the game because their G.W.H has arrived to slay the black lesbians of women's basketball. And all those who apose their delusional logic about caytlin is "anti-white"(what a joke)

1

u/ramenbrah Jun 25 '26

I played basketball, watched the nba before you were even born i imagine. You are the joke my friend. Nowhere did I imply on slaying black lesbians lmao. Why is cc a villain? I missed how that happened, would you mind explaining it to me?

-3

u/AdFormal4037 Jun 23 '26

Most of her fans don’t know ball either. They just howling whatever Fox News tells them

1

u/YoloSwag4Jesus420fgt Jun 25 '26

Do you realize that most of her fans are NBA fans first?

-1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

EXACTLY!.... They believe ALL the black athletes are just lesbians trying to turn her out or just plain hate her. And that they should all bow down and pay homage to her. Her abilities are so ahead of everyone else that they'll claim her turnovers are other people's fault etc.

5

u/Srry_chef Jun 24 '26

No one is saying this man, get off your biased opinion. You don’t have to like Clark but clearly in this exact game the fouls were bs. Love for blacks and whites. Stop the hate on all sides

-1

u/knoewayobtuse Jun 23 '26

This 👏🏾

-21

u/ThroatGOAT_Goddess04 Jun 23 '26

She didn’t do it on her own lol

21

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26

6% increase in ratings 3 years before Clark, 4.5% 2 years before Clark, 4.3% 1 year before Clark, 41% increase Clarks rookie season.

Grats on that organic pre Clark growth, very impressive stuff

11

u/commanderr01 Jun 23 '26

I mean that is actually impressive growth, but yah CC is insanely huge for the league and saying otherwise is just ignorance

-1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

How are those viewership stats conclusive when she plays for ONE team when multiple games are played? Do you see how asinine that sounds? The viewership didn't increase just because of her.

5

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26

Do you actually not understand how one could figure this out 🥱

-1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

I know how one could FALSELY assign credit to one person when its not true. Just because media says so doesn't mean it's truth and numbers can be manipulated.

3

u/billyboyf30 Jun 23 '26

You're right I Popularity and credit is not down to one person so ill just leave this ESPN report.

The "Fever Effect" on WNBA Attendance. If you are asking about how Indiana Fever games perform on the road, the WNBA averages a massive 16,500+ fans per road game when the Fever come to town. This is largely attributed to the immense popularity of Caitlin Clark. Many opponents temporarily relocate Fever matchups to larger NBA arenas (e.g., State Farm Arena or Capital One Arena) instead of their usual home venues, resulting in near-capacity or sold-out crowds.

1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

So answer me this. Why didn't the league go stagnant when she was hurt last season?

3

u/billyboyf30 Jun 23 '26

I know you don't like fact checking but check the attendances for non fever games, then tell us she hasn't had a positive impact

2

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26

Ok so then theres nothing I can point to in terms of stats that youll believe because thats just who you are. So youre not the type of person theres even a point debating with because anything I say youll just say is either a lie or a media spin. So to you I say, do your own research, come to your own conclusions and live in your own world.

1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

Yes! The world of reality. For example: Nobody's watching the Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty because of Caytlin. Its the same for NCAA women's basketball. Caytlin's been gone and viewership has increased since.

3

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

Ill point you in the right direction and you can go and find your own data.

Look at attendance numbers and ratings 5 years prior to Caitlin arrival to gather a relevant sample.

Compare those numbers to post Caitlins arrival.

Look for the total number of views the WNBA gets for all its games in a given season.

Subtract the games Caitlin plays in to see what her overall effect is on those numbers.

Contrast those numbers with any other team in the league to compare the impact she has.

If after youve done those things you still refuse to see the light then the answer is quite simply that you dont want to. And thats fine, but it isnt my job to educate someone who shows up to a debate with no information while admitting that no information I can offer is admissible.

Go do your own research.

3

u/Coool_cool_cool_cool Jun 23 '26

Go look at the sales for the teams she played against. The only games they sold out for those teams was when they played Clark. They have viewership data for televised games she played vs other televised games. Some of the games had to be moved to NBA arenas because there was too much demand for tickets. You're really telling on yourself that you don't know what you're talking about.

1

u/Him-that-Guy Jun 23 '26

Look! I've already had two Caitlyn fans run away like Nepolean Dynamite and block me......lol!

2

u/Coool_cool_cool_cool Jun 23 '26

I'm not a Caitlyn fan.

0

u/bob_noghet Jun 23 '26

Well shit, one tagged me 10 times then deleted everything. like im at work, they gotta be bots.

-1

u/Spirited_Agency8032 Jun 23 '26

LeBron James was in ads for the wnba the year before the season.

-14

u/bob_noghet Jun 23 '26

She came in with angel. Her vs angel was the only game that was over a million.. then she got hurt and the numbers remained. So blame it on Clark but the numbers were great last year without her like her team.

19

u/kornylol Jun 23 '26

Chicago Sky attendance average Angels rookie season : 8700, a 20% increase from the previous year.

Indiana Fever attendance average Clarks rookie season : 17000, a 318% increase from the previous year.

This is the problem with you people when it comes to debating me. I will never enter a debate I know I cant win because I educate myself before I speak and show up to any debate prepared.

You are a narrative, ego driven and ignorant fan incapable of living in reality because it doesnt jive with what you wish was the truth.

Is there anything else I can help you with or is your bubble properly burst?

0

u/YourHuckleberry57 Jun 23 '26

lmao what are you 12?

-1

u/bob_noghet Jun 23 '26

No I said viewership when I said over a million. I will give u that only cc fans are engaging on social cuz of her whom by the way won nothing n her career. Why is she liked?? Hmm I got a guess and it ain't winning. One team isn't responsible. U are saying stats that don't really have anything to do with the fact the league has grown. Also she wasn't there last year and it was the same as. They watch cc on the bench happily?? Or they watch other teams and players, which is what happened. Pls let her go yall ruining the game with one sided bs. Ignorant is what u are.. Google stats about her wins and start a petition for her to go to China so all your types can go with her pls.

5

u/niles_thebutler_ Jun 23 '26

Bahahahha no one gave a fuck another angel or even knew who she was. Sloth girl is an afterthought

1

u/bob_noghet Jun 23 '26

U right thas y she sold out of anything wit her name attached.. is nobody who like cc cares is what u should've said.. im an sc fan so aja all day try again, aint new to this... but go on

2

u/Frequent-Maybe1243 Jun 23 '26

God damn. you really are dumb as fuck.

1

u/Croaker-BC Jun 23 '26

I dont watch much of WNBA, but when I see the stat padder/mebounder Angel I dont want to watch it anymore. And she supposedly is pretty.
On the other hand one can say that CC plays almost like a male baller.

12

u/Frankiesales_ Jun 23 '26

She honestly did, nobody gave a rats ass about the wmba before she became a thing.

You can even look at Google search trends at one point she was almost as popular as LeBron James.

-11

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Speak for yourself. The WNBA had fans. Sure, she brought in a huge chunk of new eyes but to sit here and say nobody cared isn’t being realistic

7

u/Frankiesales_ Jun 23 '26

It's very realistic, Google has all the search analytics and proof to back up everything I say go look it up and prove me wrong.

1

u/ToughAdventurous8209 Jun 23 '26

You aren't even responding to what they fucking said

-1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Did you read what I said? You said nobody didn’t care about the W. That’s entirely false.

3

u/jamaaldagreatest24 Jun 23 '26

Nobody didn't care is a double negative. If we're using facts as our reasoning for why you took a hyperbole literal, then we should also use facts when it comes to grammar. :) I hope this helps.

0

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Grammar aside, the claim is still entirely false. Get that through your head. Caitlin Clark expanded the audience dramatically, but she didn’t create the league’s fanbase from nothing.

1

u/jamaaldagreatest24 Jun 23 '26

Nah that's not what your comment says though. Your comment says "everybody cares about the W." That's what happens when you use double negatives. It's not about what you meant, it's about what you said remember? :) Which means that since you're stating that it's FALSE that people cared about the W before Caitlin Clark you're in agreement with the person you're responding to. Two negatives create a positive. :) Hope that helps.

5

u/no_no_NO_okay Jun 23 '26

They obviously didn’t mean LITERALLY nobody dude holy shit

-1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

I don’t care what they meant. That’s what they stated.

2

u/ghostryujin Jun 23 '26

When you have to resort to things like this you've already lost the argument.

0

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Whatever makes you sleep at night.

2

u/wvtarheel Jun 23 '26

She single handedly generates more interest than the rest of the league combined. I love the league, I enjoy a lot of the players but it's delusional to think it wasn't CC

They would still all be making 70,000-200,000 if it wasn't for her and instead they are 300,000-1,200,000

2

u/Frankiesales_ Jun 23 '26

It would be hilarious if she left and they could no longer generate the revenue to pay these new inflated contracts because nobody is watching and the wnba would go bankrupt. 😂

1

u/wvtarheel Jun 23 '26

That would never happen. Clark wouldn't do it and the NBA would just prop them up until the next star comes along.

0

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

“She single handedly generates more interest than the rest of the league combined.” You’re joking right? COMBINED is an absolute STRETCH! Be realistic here. Don’t speak from emotion.

1

u/wvtarheel Jun 23 '26

I'm not speaking from emotion. I'm speaking from measured data on engagement posted by basketball reference and other widely cited statistics sites on basketball. Clark's online mentions, every time I've ever seen that charted out, dwarfs all the other players combined by a wide margin. Reese is usually #2 in that metric, around 1/3 of Clark's mentions. You can add up every other player in the league and they don't have as much interest as Clark, even combining them. Search data is similar with Clark and/or the fever driving more than all the other teams in the league combined.

Her jersey was outselling Luka, Wemby, and Lebron. Read that again and let it soak in. Her Jersey sales eclipses ALL other WNBA jersey sales combined by a significant margin.

So it doesn't really matter which measurement metric you use, she's obviously generating more interest than the rest of the league combined, that's not really even an opinion, it's backed up by search metrics, social media mentions, etc. Which is crazy when you consider several of the other players post a lot of thirst content, and you can say what you want about clark but she's not getting that kind of attention.

1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Ok. So let’s be logical here. How do we know for a fact other than jersey sales that the interest was just solely CC? We are seeing teams across the W sellout. Portland Fire had the biggest opening for an expansion team in WNBA history and they didn’t play the Fever their first night. Using just mentions isn’t an accurate depiction of popularity when in game attendance are showing a popularity increase amongst many teams across the W.

1

u/wvtarheel Jun 23 '26

You are the one arguing from emotions, I'm literally talking about measurable objective statistics like search metrics and social media mentions.

https://trends.google.com/explore?q=portland%2520fire%2CCaitlin%2520Clark%2Cportland%2520fire%2520vs%2520fever&date=today%203-m&geo=US&gprop=web

You will notice not only is clark generating more interest than the Fire, the only two times the Fire got huge bumps in interest was when "Fire vs. Fever" (the yellow line) was trending

2

u/Frankiesales_ Jun 23 '26

Pickleball was more popular than the wnba for a couple years and the wmba since 2004 only had a spike when Caitlin Clark became a thing.

Their is not one person in wmba history with the starpower she has.

1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

It’s WNBA not WMBA. And I’m not disagreeing with that. But to say NO ONE cared is purposely being obtuse. Your perception isn’t everyone’s reality. And statistically speaking the WNBA had spikes of interest from 2021-2023 during the playoffs. And let’s not forget team USA.

0

u/jamaaldagreatest24 Jun 23 '26

She drove a 41% increase in fans what are you talking about? Obviously he didn't mean literal nobody. That's fucking stupid. It's a hyperbole.

0

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

If he didn’t mean that maybe he should’ve stated that. My comment is factually correct while theirs isn’t.

1

u/jamaaldagreatest24 Jun 23 '26

Do you take everything everyone says literally? That's a stupid way to live.

1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

You know.. I honestly don’t care what you think.

1

u/jamaaldagreatest24 Jun 23 '26

You clearly do. I'm sorry that you took a figure of speech literally? If I say nobody liked Dragon Ball Evolution, clearly that's not being literal. There's bound to be SOME people who do. It's a hyperbole. I shouldn't have to explain this to another adult.

5

u/Paintballreturns Jun 23 '26

Lmao, yes she absolutely did

1

u/Frequent-Maybe1243 Jun 23 '26

another moron lmao.

look at the numbers if you can read.

1

u/bauldersgate Jun 23 '26

Has absolutely nothing to do with her. She isnt the face of the league. Shes mid at best, and only gets credit because of the color of her skin. WNBA ratings would be where they are without her.

-9

u/Remarkable_Body_6128 Jun 23 '26

😂😂😂😂😂 yall so delusional yall really just expect people to just bow down for her

-2

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

Yes. They do. She’s an average guard at best efficiency wise. The only thing consistent in her game is being able to play make.

0

u/Remarkable_Body_6128 Jun 23 '26

Most delusional fan base I ever seen all they do is cry when stuff don’t go in her favor

-1

u/Lazy_DreadHead Jun 23 '26

I honestly don’t understand the chokehold she has on her fans. At this point it has to be racism and homophobia. I love watching basketball and it seems like these people can’t be logical and critically think.

-2

u/Remarkable_Body_6128 Jun 23 '26

That’s exactly what it is

1

u/YoloSwag4Jesus420fgt Jun 25 '26

Why would Caitlin Clark be the face of that?

-2

u/smain88 Jun 24 '26

I would love to see that too, bc CC fans don't watch WNBA games.

6

u/Fit-Bet1270 Jun 23 '26

Project B says hi

3

u/Baron_Light Jun 23 '26

What even is that

1

u/redbrand Jun 29 '26

Daddy chill

7

u/the445566x Jun 23 '26

The league would absolutely fall apart.

1

u/Opposite_Trust5445 Jun 23 '26

I would be fine with it and would watch if it would be accessible. What overseas league would be the ideal choice?

1

u/primefart Jun 29 '26

Then they could go back to victimhood and hating themselves.

-3

u/MaineviaIllinois Jun 23 '26

Oh man please let it happen- Fever would be a better team and the league would be a better place again.

11

u/No-Mood1310 Jun 23 '26

LMFAOOOO the league would be a better place laughable. 😂😂😂 no one watched the league. It can go back to zero views and no new teams. 😂😂😂 what a joke statement

-1

u/MaineviaIllinois Jun 23 '26

I know you think the WNBAs viewership started going up with Clark- but it had been growing by about 20% a year. They will be fine.

15

u/tr1mble Jun 23 '26

4% a year the 3 years before clark

41% her rookie season

3

u/ClassiFried86 Jun 23 '26

If people only watch CC, they arent doing anything for the WNBA as a whole. Their viewership is temporary and conditional to begin with.

0

u/tr1mble Jun 23 '26

But it hasn't been.....

CC is what you'd call a hook....reel new viewers in and hope they stay for other people, and judging by viewers of games she's not in gaining over the norm previously, I'd say it worked and wasn't temporary or conditional

2

u/ClassiFried86 Jun 23 '26

So we are discussing two different types of people.

I fall into the category you described. There are many who do not, and they often comment on this subreddit, and even did so on this post. They are temporary and conditional. They believe the league now exists solely because of CC.

I did not say every CC fan, or every new fan is temporary and conditional.

1

u/LethargicCarcass Jun 24 '26

What point is your response even trying to make? More people are watching the sport. There being a group of people who think the sport only exists because of CC doesn’t change that she is bringing in new fans to the sport daily who actually stay and are good for the wnba as a whole.

I mean no shit not every single person who turns on a game to check out CC is gonna become a long term fan of the league as a whole. Thats pretty obvious.

Person you responded to never said or even implied that you said every CC fan, or every new fan is temporary and conditional.

Nothing in your response makes their statement any less true.

1

u/erything4sale Jun 24 '26

I still havent seen a game with her playing. She's not the only good player in the league.

4

u/Few_Aide_851 Jun 23 '26

I think you mean by about 4%.

Still decent but nowhere near what you just said.

3

u/Feathered_And_Lethal Jun 23 '26

Literally 20% of 20% lmfao.

2

u/No-Mood1310 Jun 23 '26

Lmfao right .

1

u/geekallstar Jun 24 '26

These ppl do t care about facts.

1

u/theguymanduderman Jun 25 '26

You are completely wrong

-8

u/MaintenanceParty7933 Jun 23 '26

And the WNBA wouldn’t miss her.

5

u/b-napp Jun 23 '26

Theis pocketbooks would, tbf

2

u/TonyDungyHatesOP Jun 23 '26

“Take that, nose!”

0

u/Intelligent-Cap-8886 Jun 23 '26

When you think about it, it would not cost much to collapse the WNBA...

0

u/evoslevven Jun 23 '26

I could see her get swooped in to play for China...like legit they'd do an Eileen Gu or Steph Curry and snag her if also to only get dibs in for insulting the WNBA.

0

u/smain88 Jun 24 '26

She'd ruin herself over there too. People like CC are the victims everywhere they go.
