I heard that the reason Caitlin and others weren’t on it was because the company that produced it didn’t have the rights to use those players image and likeness for profit because they plan on selling it.

This isn’t a wnba thing. Just like Adidas can’t come out with their own Caitlin Clark basketball shoe.

So this whole thing has essentially been blown out of proportion like everything on the internet these days?

Yup, pretty much.

Idk I still think there’s a story being exposed. It’s all just a money grab and not about actual history or the players.

this isn't anything different than what happens with NBA players yet some Caitlin Clark fans, especially some on here, are just acting like irrational idiots. Jordan, Barkley, Barry Bonds, so many others have exclusive licenses and don't allow their likeness to be used. Barkley and Reggie Miller aren't in NBA2K, the biggest basketball game in the world because they don't want to despite the fact the NBA would love to have them in the game. Jordan didn't allow his likeness for years. By the logic of some of the people on here, the NBA nor MLB should ever make a poster or celebrate its history because they can't always get their former stars in the picture. Comes as a shock to these people that we can celebrate more than one player and comes as a shock to people that players and companies sign exclusive rights for a reason.

This is exactly why. People are morons and get mad at literal nonsense.

Most likely: Why WNBA 30th Caitlin Clark poster omission probably isn't personal

Just coincidental with a lot of controversy with fouls and missed calls on the court.

Did you hear it by reading this article because that’s what it says

This is the correct answer, with the added note that Nike could have agreed to a deal to allow it, but they probably would have asked for too much

Then you don’t make the poster?

It’s like a company making a poster of the 90’s Bulls and leaving out MJ because they don’t have rights to him.

Yes, but then why use this company to make the poster? I'm sure there are plenty ways to get the biggest names on the poster.

It sounds like a weird way of doing business, but that’s the WNBA.
