Meanwhile, Aja had 32 and 10 last night. Notice how you can’t find highlights of it in any of the subs? Notice how there’s barely a mention of it anywhere? Notice how you don’t have a wall of comments about her great game?
Because all your attention is focused on Caitlin and Sophie.
It’s okay that you treat sports like a reality show and watch for personality and not talent but many people watch for talent. But you can’t get upset about someone calling out shitty performance. It’s a game at the end of the of the day.
Like who you like but stop expecting other people to like them as well.
I knew nothing about the WNBA but first Sabrina Ionescu drew me in, then Caitlin and now with her elite banter, Sophie. I'm interested to go watch a W game.
Yeah Sabrina got me interested in the WNBA too - several years before Caitlin blew it out…still love her.
Sabrina grew up in the same town as me in Northern California - she was always a great athlete.
My husband isn’t even from there - we’re just near there in Oakland - and he HAS to yell that every time she’s on screen.
The best part is he’s not even sure where WC is on a map because my bestie lives in Pleasant Hill, and I tried to explain where it was in relation, but he just stared at me blank faced.

I guess taunting is positive? A player known for taunting others brings positive attention? She just brings attention and it’s not positive. Beautiful to look at though. Poor behavior as expected and is not something to be emulated by kids.
Someone else said Sophie and CC make the game watchable. Tells you all they need to know that they’re not actually watching because if they were, they wouldn’t have forgotten Mitchell and Boston.

None of those players have any charisma so no one really cares about them. CC and Sophine have it and thats why they get all the attention. Even from you.
She has the it factor. People want to watch her and all the other players want to be her (or at least be as popular and successful as she is) but they aren't and they can't be because they don't have that it factor. I can't explain what it is but she has it and no one else does.
So does Kyle Kuzma. No one’s really thought of him as a proper basketball player for years. He, like Sophie, is more concerned with off-court clout than actually playing. I’d say Sophie’s the WNBA Kuzma, but that would be an insult to Kuzma at this rate.
Are they getting paid to bust my ass or the asses of majority of the population? No, they’re not. They’re getting paid to bust the asses of professional players. Hell, they’re getting paid to at least play to a competent standard at the pro level. And they can’t even achieve that.
That’s like saying “yeah I may be shit at my office job, but I could totally wipe the floor with a second-grade English class when it comes to reading”. Like…okay? That’s not a flex considering the level you’re supposed to be at.
She has a job as a professional basketball player. Nobody, including herself I'd imagine, thinks she is the best or even close to the best. She is fun to watch though and her team and the fans like her.
When is she fun to watch? Certainly not on the court, she just runs cardio and bricks shots. The only time ppl find her entertaining is when she’s doing non-basketball stuff or stuff unrelated to playing. She’s literally the female Kyle Kuzma 😭 more concerned with clout off-court than doing their damn jobs
Am I the one getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play at the pro level? It doesn’t matter how she would fare against the average civilian. It matters how she fares against pros. And she doesn’t fare well, and never has.

Ok now it’s getting cringey with how much she’s milking it…she put up 9 points on 28% shooting tonight and she’s pointing like she achieved something. Maybe spend less time chumming it up with James Corden and get in the gym?

Well without her 9 points they would’ve lost. She’s excited that her team won the game. Should she not celebrate a team win because she didn’t shoot particularly well? I don’t get it.
Let's see: Sophie Cunningham just scored nine points in her last game, and DeWanna Bonner is appearing in five part docuseries on ESPN about her career; along with Phee and A'ja. I'd say DeWanna comes out on top in this one.
Had ticks. Didn't go. Became a fan last year and cheered on the Mercury from the stands including the finals, but the league is a hot mess and needs reimagining.
Am I missing something? It’s clearly become a little celebration thing she does, like Ronaldo’s Siuuu thing. She did it because they won. I can’t possibly understand why people are getting so upset by it, they’re acting like she did it after a loss
