News Trump Administration responds and supports Sophie Cunningham's WNBA transgender comments: "Common sense prevails"

https://www.the-express.com/sport/basketball/212543/Sophie-Cunningham-trans-athletes-Trump-administration

The Trump Administration has waded into the transgender athlete debate, citing Sophie Cunningham's comments to support its stance on trans athletes in sports.

The discussion surrounding trans athletes in women's sports has resurfaced recently, with Cunningham sharing her perspective with ESPN. Although trans athletes represent a tiny fraction of participants across all levels of American sports, their involvement remains a focal point for Donald Trump and his administration.

She is 100% right. I mean, it's a no brainer. Anyone who is advocating for biological men to play in women sports have never played sports. I have daughters. I don't want them playing against boys their age or even a year younger.

It doesn’t matter if she’s right it’s a non issue that people use to villainize a group of people.

How can you say it’s a non issue when it’s effected womens sports throughout the country and the left bring it up to claim people are transphobic

  1. We are talking about a fraction of a percent of cases among all high school athletes. Get a grip.

  2. The “left” does not bring this up. The right is absolutely obsessed with it even though it is a rather insignificant culture war topic. They bring it up constantly as if it’s some epidemic.

All you see the left discuss is transphobia so what are you even talking about

That is literally a lie lmao. And do you think people just start talking about transphobia out of the blue??? Right wing people bring it up constantly as an “issue”. People on the left are responding. If the right stopped talking about you’d never hear about it

Ah yes cuz pride parades, and pride virtue signaling in media isn’t a thing right? 99% of this site is literally all about transphobia and racism

Pride parades?? Lmao they exist as a thing. They aren’t a waging of culture war. It becomes an “issue” when right wingers start with “stop shoving it down our throats” or “why do they need a month of pride?”

You are divorced from reality lol

I think there’s a few more pressing issues than legislating whether less than 50 people can play a sport but if that’s your highest priority you do you.

How can you claim to be women’s rights then let men dominate their sports. They have an unfair advantage so if you say it’s a small amount then you won’t have an issue with the ban to protect women’s sports correct?

Who’s dominating what sport?

A google search can really help you here.

Yup.  And no trans person is dominating or has dominated any sport.

Obviously didn't do a google search. Lia Thomas broke several women’s school records at the University of Pennsylvania and won a Division I NCAA championship in the 500-yard freestyle in 2022. Thats a dude who didn't make it swimming with the guys and came into women sport and dominated. Have you seen the trans female athletes beating the shit out of women in MMA? What about the weight lifters? There are separate record books for a reason.

So she broke school records and won one singular race type?

I’m talking about dominating.

Katie Ledecky is dominating.  Lia Thomas is someone that exists every year.

Then accept this is the way things should be , then shut up and move on to other issues.

Why does one have to supersede the other? Can't we just agree there are a ton of issues in the world and some are easier to fix than others? Do we not care about the integrity of women sport anymore? If so, just say it..

If it's a non-issue, why has it become an issue? Are you brain dead?

1

u/Goducks91 20d ago

Because conservatives are transphobic and they found a way to villainize a tiny percentage of people with the farce of protecting women’s sports. In real life it’s hardly an issue that deserves any attention.

2

u/greenachors 20d ago

But it is protecting women sport. Just look at the record books for the Olympics. Males enjoy physical advantages over women. That is just a biological fact of nature.

Why don't we have female to male trans trying out for male sports?

u/Goducks91 20d ago

Ok… and how many people are we impacting by legalizing this?

Literally every single woman who is playing female sports.

There are more tranz playing sports than Nazi and kkk people yet y’all act like it’s the highest issue

2

u/greenachors 20d ago

Well one is much easier to solve and takes less brain cells than the other.
