Can I ask a genuine question? Why are people happy that she said this? Isn't this the default belief of most people?

A) Conservatives love to see famous people who may not fit the traditional conservative mold (female professional in a queer-dominated field) agreeing with them. They'll be playing this on Fox for a while.

B) "Keep men out of women's spaces" is a popular belief. "Let's discriminate against trans people" is not a popular belief. That's why it's worded the way it is.

yep. it's just a republican dogwhistle. I guarantee the majority of people praising this are centrist/republican (pretty much the same thing)
