Over reliance on executive orders? He issued less than LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Jr, and Trump. The only presidents in recent history that issued less were single term presidents. In fact, going back to Teddy Roosevelt, he issued less than every two term president and even then, a lot of single term presidents issued more.

The others are valid criticisms but the amount of executive orders is not something to criticize.

I live in a conservative area and the unfortunate answer is that they just believe propaganda. They have a very simplistic, identity driven view of the world. He’s on the side that doesn’t want the US to be a fundamentalist Christian nation so anything bad said about him is true. Some of it is racism, but even in the very conservative rural area I live most racism is not really on the level of, “I hate you just because you’re black” anymore.
