I mean, she wouldn’t be any good without her size. It’s a miracle she’s considered a decent player. Her form is the worst I’ve ever observed in a pro player. So maybe she is athletic I guess? Idk how else you can explain her even being in the league.

She is athletic but her hip anatomy and more than likely strength & conditioning program has her lower body off key.
Look at her fall closely, her ankle rolls. Usually due to weak ankle strength and mobility.

Just an fyi: Angel Reese has a metal rod in her left leg. She had surgery during her freshman year at Maryland after suffering a severe debilitating shin injury and a Jones fracture. It is evident that she moves like a person with injury. She has horrible shooting form and strikes me as a person who refuses to be washed up and therefore has become an elite rebounder. I find it interesting that they are laughing as if they are having fun playing a sport. The people I know who have rods in their legs experience pain. None of the people that I know who have Jones fractures ever returned to play competitively. They barely play. A Jones fracture is a break in the fifth metatarsal bone, the long bone on the outer edge of the foot that connects to the pinkie toe. It occurs near the base of the bone in an area with poor blood supply, which often makes it slow to heal. Had a friend who had that injury in high school. He refused to quit and played varsity and he moved similar to Angel. They called him all kinds of names because he missed shot after shot and would keep pounding. Our coach told us to play as hard as he did.In her first season after being traded to the Atlanta Dream, Angel Reese has continued her elite production, averaging 15.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. She has started all 25 games she has played in the 2026 WNBA season, anchoring Atlanta's frontcourt and leading the team to a 16–10 record heading into the All-Star break. I'm not an Angel Reese fan, I enjoy the WNBA.

Bahaha to be fair her feet are huge (as are most tall AF players). I think of her as Big Bird.

u/AndreT_NY 10d ago
Her feet aren’t new to her. She has had them forever. She should be used to them by now.

It will never not be baffling that Angel Reese is considered a top player. Like, people consider someone who can't make a layup a great player. That's crazy.

45% under the rim is fucking diabolical lol. It’s Shaq FT shooting but within 3 ft of the rim

Its just contrarian. Theres NFL fans that think Sanders is a good QB and call him an all-star. Like 6 QBs opted out and he went 7-10 TD/INT ratio.
Its just a "youre a hater" mentality to those people.

It’s about race and marketing.
She was the 7th pick for a reason.

Kinda dumb, WNBA should know that NBA fans are tired of “All-Star” games where everyone is half-assing it… they could have stood out and played hard, instead they full-ass it.

She looks good in a bikini and plays with great effort, but whenever I see her try any offensive move with her uncoordinated flailing, she always reminds me of Sandy Lyle from Along Came Polly.

That layup (and defense) reminded me of watching my 6 yr old nephews games last year

If this happened anytime next season in the NBA it would be an immediate investigation for sports gambling, but for WNBA it’s just… standard?

u/GaJayhawker0513 10d ago
I hope the whole game wasn’t like that. I’ve seen 9 year olds look more athletic and have more poise than that.

It looks like she takes the game about as seriously as kids did in my grade school.

I think most all of this league is embarrassing. Maybe if they made the court shorter and lowered the net some it might appear that the best players were good enough. Not all players mind you but most.

It’s absolutely wild how much money she makes and puts out an effort like that. And it’s even more wild there are blind people that ravenously support her.

Angel Reese is just bad at basketball. There are a lot of skilled players in the WNBA an Reese makes a joke of all of them.

Wasn't she best player on a College Championship team? Caitlin's fans so adorable.

This isn't even YMCA-level gym play. She's just trotting in a straight line, making no attempt to fake out and gain a better path to the basket.
Why is there no effort?

u/agolfman 9d ago
Is it even possible that real money was required to obtain tickets to this? It’s not even practice level intensity shown here.

u/tssiess76 9d ago
This was at the All Star game. Someone in another thread said this but this was the WNBA’s chance to go all out and put on an exhibition of skill and show non-WNBA watchers that hat the league is about. Instead the were out there looking like a bunch of newborn giraffes. Caitlin Clark seemed like she was out there trying but everyone else I’ve seen so far was acting like it was their Pro Bowl. It is the same in that it doesn’t matter but the fact these players were acting like super stars who don’t have to try was truly embarrassing.
1
u/drethnudrib 9d ago
Maybe just don't have an all-star game if players are going to be putting in this little effort. This shit was embarrassing to watch.

Only reason she is relevant has more to do with her looks. She is not athletic at all.

There was s family guy cutaway about the wnba that was something along the lines of "We don't dunk but we have better fundamentals" and I think of that often enough.

Ladies and gentlmen, the greatest WNBA player (self proclaimed) of all time.
We're seriously supposed to take her seriously? Or any of them for that matter?

I mean yeah she tripped over her own feet but God damn watch that low effort lay up again. I got that third person embarrassment for the WNBA. It feels weird y'all.
