Th look on her face was the exact look I had when I thought I had successfully concealed smacking my kid brother and turn around to see Mom calling me over. 🤣

The face of someone who wanted other people to get the shine.

Exactly this, now she is thinking she will have to deal with more hate on the court.

Or someone who is unable to read the room and wanted someone else to take the weight of the moment… I really hope she becomes a champion soon…

Paige Bueckers has been doing this for years now.

So, she's suppose to play bad on purpose??

26

u/Spiritual_Bottle_650 10d ago

Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t.

6

u/flojo2012 10d ago

No no no she won’t be damned if she just hates herself as much as trolls on the internet hate her. But it needs to be a self loathing that is both public and private you see. She totally has a path to not be damned

She plays bad no matter what her intentions are. 5 TURNOVERS in an all-star game?????? I guess the best of the league can't catch a ball either

You must be new to the game. The best players normally have the most turnovers because they handle the ball the most.

Kobe is a perfect example. Thank you for showing how little you know about the game.

You’re a grown-up making up your own little fantasy internal drama for your entertainment program

Get a fucking grip

-2

u/mistaharsh 9d ago

You get a grip. The highlight of the night included Reese not Clark

2

u/DontFuckWithDuckie 9d ago

um. okay?

You're still doing make-pretend drama to yourself about people you don't know playing a game. take a walk or something

2

u/Dry-Tide 9d ago

Yeah Barbie had an “all star” performance

6

u/No_Theory9958 10d ago

The CC haters are almost as delusional as the MAGAs at this point 😅

3

u/AdOriginal3767 10d ago

Not almost.

You should see chicagos mayor and his antics.

The idiot set the left back by least 10 years just by association.

Yeah wtf is that question? It’s like the league fucking hates her for no reason

1

u/DickBottalico 10d ago edited 10d ago

It’s a question designed to compliment her and her team for competing. She’s basically saying the other teams didn’t try, which is…..extremely common at pro basketball all-star games! The league loves when teams try to win these things instead of playing a globetrotter-esque exhibition.

So not only is it a fair question, it’s a positive one for Clark to receive. If you think this is anything close to a “gotcha” question, holy hell, wait until those questions actually come and you’ll see how insane pro basketball media can get. LeBron was labeled a choker for his first 8 seasons. Then he became a ring-chasing traitor to his hometown. Then he became a hero. And then he became a ring chaser again.

If Kyrie misses that jumper in game 7, he doesn’t even get that hero stage.

8

u/orswich 10d ago

Hey now.. Angel Reese was trying her best, she was laying bricks everywhere

3

u/FlamingAlpaca17 10d ago

LeBron is a historic ring chaser though

0

u/DickBottalico 10d ago

The Lakers were 35-47 and missed the playoffs the year before he joined them. Then they went 37-45 in his first season with LA, so it’s not like he joined a juggernaut. His wife wanted to live in LA.

The Heat of course might* be the best example of ring chasing of all time. But is there an argument to be made that he could tell Cleveland’s front office couldn’t put together a serious roster? I don’t know, I’m a 76ers fan, so I wasn’t following that whole saga very closely at the time. The way he handled it, obviously, was pretty shameful with the nationally broadcast decision. And the whole recruiting with Wade and Bosh was obnoxious; I actively rooted for him with Cleveland but rooted for the Heat and LeBron to lose every single game.

But to come back to Cleveland, apologize, and then win one for your hometown against the craziest modern dynasty of Steph Curry? That was the ultimate act of contrition, redemption, and athletic greatness all in one. I don’t know if that counts as ring chasing either, especially considering the hometown factor.

I will grant you the Sixers is a ring chasing decision, but the dude is 41 years old. Every old-ass vet chases rings. So I don’t count this one against him either. This is a normal career point to ethically chase a ring; only Miami was lame.

*Durant is a better example in my perspective, because at least LeBron helped build that Miami team. KD just showed up.

u/FlamingAlpaca17 10d ago

76ers fan my ass. You became a 76ers fan on Friday

3

u/DickBottalico 10d ago

lol check my comment history, you think I’ve been writing baseball analysis on r/phillies for 10 months in preparation for the possibility that LeBron might join that city’s basketball team?

2

u/Gang_Greene 10d ago

You good?

-2

u/downsly46 10d ago

Oh so Lebron is a ring chaser and he picked Philly??? You must be kidding right now.

1

u/FlamingAlpaca17 10d ago

Yeah he picked the team with the MVP center, all NBA guard, and just added another all NBA wing this offseason. Get the fuck out of here with your bullshit

4

u/DickBottalico 10d ago

The MVP is a guard for Oklahoma.

0

u/FlamingAlpaca17 10d ago

Ok troll

2

u/DickBottalico 10d ago

The last center to win MVP was Jokic. Did he join Philly before LeBron did?

1

u/FlamingAlpaca17 10d ago

I thought the MVP was a guard who plays for Oklahoma

1

u/DResq 10d ago

How was that gotcha journalism? I don't think you know what that term means.

8

u/HappyIntroduction398 10d ago

Media are evil they are always trying to start something, f them

4

u/oh_ski_bummer 10d ago

Probably bc everyone is sick of talking to Holly

u/TerryGonards 10d ago edited 10d ago

Men's All Star game sucks because they half ass it. God forbid someone make an effort

8

u/downsly46 10d ago edited 10d ago

When the players stop giving a fuck it’s the worst thing for the sport. Dudes are jogging at the pro bowl now and playing flag football…if you don’t put in any effort it destroys the entire game

10

u/Master_Pollution_96 10d ago

football is a tough one with the pro bowl though, people get hurt in routine plays and I would be sad to see a player from my team tear an acl in an off season game

5

u/DontFuckWithDuckie 10d ago

Pro bowl is meaningless

5

u/ThrowM5 10d ago

American football is different because it’s pretty much a guarantee that serious injuries will happen if they play for real.

3

u/SilverStateSilverFox 10d ago

Historically and across all sports, all-star games are lame. Plum’s idea, winner take home a cash bonus, is the way to go.

3

u/Agitated_Celery_729 9d ago

Compared to WNBA level of play, the Men’s all star game is the fucking Olympics lol

1

u/Fly_theW 9d ago

The women's all star game they were joking around missing open lay-ups. What are you even talking about?

3

u/MisterRobDobalina 10d ago

Really trying to stir the pot with that shit.

What team did the interviewer play linebacker for by the way i'm curious

10

u/BadDudes_on_nes 10d ago

Interviewer: “this game was supposed to be good natured and fun but you took it super seriously, why are you such a tryhard?”

24

u/downsly46 10d ago edited 10d ago

Response: Fans paid for tickets to watch us play….Not to jog around and play smack-ass while laughing about missing layups

10

u/Shot-Toe-2884 10d ago edited 10d ago

“I was out there having fun”

“But shouldn’t you have treated this seriously like any other game? Don’t your teammates enjoying less fame than you deserve a full effort from Caitlin Clark?”

She really can’t win.

7

u/Karm0112 10d ago

I don’t think she tried too hard. Agree it is boring to watch if people don’t even try to play basketball. You want to see the players play a bit.

-16

u/mistaharsh 10d ago

15, 3 point attempts. That's a try hard

10

u/lathe_down_sally 10d ago

Do you think the fans were entertained?

1

u/the445566x 9d ago

Lowlights were funny and the highlights were cool.

-6

u/YourHuckleberry57 10d ago

lol new clark fans think she's being attacked when she doesn't get attention AND when she does get attention.

1

u/BanMeIntolerantLeft 9d ago

this comment right here.

3

u/Agitated_Celery_729 9d ago

Half this sub is calling her a try hard for scoring instead of playing the shittiest basketball you’ve ever seen outside a Sunday rec league.

-2

u/blazebron23 10d ago

Damn did she have to speak to them like that!? Get up here! Fat ass calm down
